Xbox Party Chat Not Outputting Through Main Audio Device Windows 10

    Hello,

I have been having a problem when using Xbox Voice Chat On My Windows 10 PC. First of all, so you can better understand the problem I will describe my current audio setup. I have A soundbar connected through a 3.5mm jack on my PC which I use as a secondary
output, then I have a USB audio interface that I use to connect my XLR mic to my PC and I use it as my main audio output for my headphones. When I enter a game and have my audio interface set as the main output in settings, I can hear the game through my headphones,
but when I join an Xbox Party Chat my microphone is used as the input but the voice chat is outputted through my Soundbar. I tried disconnecting the soundbar but then I don't hear the chat.

I've had this problem before with another device where I had two sound outputs, where one would be used as the game output and another as the voice output.yp

    :)

Cant hear game audio when in party on PC

    Of course, mate.

    Ok:

Open the Xbox Game Bar and join/initiate a party chat (don’t leave the party till the completion of the solution).

Now open the Xbox Game Bar Settings by clicking on the Gear icon and in the menu shown, click on Party Chat (in the left half of the window).

Then set your Audio Output to the headset and if it is already set to the headset change it to another device (if you only have one single device, then try to use a dummy device from applications like Virtual Audio Cable).

Repeat the same for Audio Input and then close the Settings Windows.

Then click on the Widget Menu and choose Audio.

Now make sure the output (in the Mix tab) and input (in the Voice tab) is set to your headset. And make sure the system sounds are on max.

Then repeat steps 2 to 4 but make sure your headset is set as audio output and input device.

Now close the Settings window and check if the party chat and the game's volume have started to work fine.

If not, then check if disabling Push to Talk in the Party Chat settings of the Game Bar solves the issue

    Headset Echoing

If using headset for game audio and chat, mute the TV or any device your game and chat audio is coming through and make sure 'chat' is set to output through headset only. If you have your tv volume up in the background while you're on the headset there
will probably be echoing especially if you have your party audio set to output through your TV.

    Hello CIOLKO,

Thank you for reaching out to us about your issue!

Try making sure your input and output devices are set correctly under the Audio window for both Mix and Input.

You can also try starting a party by yourself by clicking the three dots in the Xbox Social window and then clicking on the "Xbox party chat" button that appears at the bottom of the Audio window.

From there, you can adjust your party audio devices and settings to see if that helps out.

Can you use the Xbox one wireless headset chat mixer on PC if you have the usb wireless adapter?

    I have the same issue/question.

I am using a Microsoft Windows 10 wireless adapter (the smaller slim one) and have my Microsoft Xbox Wireless Headset connected to it, but have no clue how to mix game audio and chat devices.

My OS is Windows 10 Home

In the past with similar devices, the headphones show up as 2 separate output devices in Windows. One set as "default" device and one as "default communications" device. (Astro Mixamp Pro TR for example)

I have tried the steps listed above but "Open the Xbox Accessories app on your PC, and click on the "Xbox One Wireless Controller" device. From there, you can adjust the chat mixer settings to your liking." makes no sense, there are no chat mix options. The ability to chat mix should be the dial on the left side of the headphones.

Please explain how to use chat mix on PC (mixing volume levels of main output and chat output). Otherwise i will be returning this headset. The whole reason i got it is because it was advertised to have that feature (which is now starting to sound like its an Xbox One/Series exclusive feature)
