    Xbox party chat/headset not working


    I have be using a turtle beach elite pro 2 headset (xbox version) for a few weeks now without any trouble. However, when I joined a party today to play with some friends, I got the “we can’t find a microphone for these people” and showed I did not have
    a microphone connected. At first I thought it was my mic but I have mic monitoring on and I can hear myself fine and all my game audio plays rhough the headsets and that sounds fine. Additionally, its showing other not having mics when they say they do have
    them connected. I was also able to send a voice message to a friend and my microphone worked fine so I don’t believe it is a hardware issue. The firmware for all my devices is up to date as well. As of now it seems as if the problem only occurs when in an
    xbox party as I can talk to people in the public chats in game. Is there any similar known problems with xbox party chat?

    Broken microphone

    The microphone does not work in any games nor does it work in party chats. The headset is the standard headset that comes with an xbox purchase.

    Hello Anthony,

    Sorry for the issue with the sound in headsets not working as it should. When you are in a party chat does it seem to be bothered, or is it game chat and party chat? You can try the

    troubleshooting steps for chat headsets    . Keep in mind the headset you have is also a third party so troubleshooting is limited.

    Astro A50's not working in party chat or game chat on Backwards Compatible games

    Does the headset work on Xbox One Party chat (i.e. do you see a circle around your gamerpic in the party chat on Xbox One)?

    Are only Backwards compatible games affected? If so, it might be that the Astro A50 base station acts as a USB microphone, which doesn't work as Chat microphone on the Xbox 360.

    You might have to contact the Astro A50 support for information on how to use that headset on backwards compatible titles.
    Yeah it works on the Xbox One party chat but yeah that's what i was thinking i might just have to get a old Xbox One chat headset for it to work.

    Chat through a HI-FI headphone??

    As far as I've been able to tell, chat does not work for most 3rd party headsets when using the adapter. The adapter that was, of course, supposed to enable chat for 3rd party headsets. Sigh.
