Xbox Party chat DC's when my roomate is online.

Was wondering if anyone could help, my party chat works just fine until my roomate gets on his xbox to play games/watch netflix etc. where it then just says "network settings prevent you from using party chat" or something like that. His console is downstars
closest to the router, mine is upstairs. We both use Wi-Fi, not hard wire. It is not possible for me to hard wire my console just because i'm at a rental house and I dont think drilling a hole in the corner of my room would be smart.

The internet is great, 37 down/6 up/9 ms ping/0% packet loss. Everything works great apart from party chat, and it only happens when both consoles are online. Game chat still works but I usually am in party chats with friends who are not all in the same
game as me.

After a disconnect, the only thing I can do is wait until he is offline again, unplug the router, and hard reset my xbox. When I start up the xbox again, everything works as intended.

I had a problem in the past with "strict nat", so I'v gone into the router, opened all ports for xbox one and enabled UPnP. Nat type has been open for a few months so I dont think thats the problem.

I heard that xbox one has a weird connection setting that is outdated that is causing the disconnects to happen, but is there a fix or any suggestions as to what I should do?

I'm frustrated because I use party chat all the time, not being able to use it is like depriving a young teen from facebook, lol.

Xbox Live random disconnects 9/1/2013

Hi, tonight I've been randomly disconnecting from Xbox live/party chat/Black ops 2.

The connection was fine earlier today (around 2pm and again at around 6pm) and I am connecting via Ethernet. When these disconnects occur, my PC remains connected to the internet fine its just XBL and my games that dc.

When the DC's happen, it reports on the line tester thing built in that while my xbox is connected to the internet it cannot reach XBL.

 

Party Chat Issues

My friends and I have been having constant issues with Xbox party chat...we get “network settings are blocking party chat” errors but it only happens when certain people are online. For example when there are five of us trying to chat together. If I try
to join the party and one specific friend is in the party it says my network setting block party chat however if that friend leaves the party then there are no issues. This happens with random pairs in our group of friends. We have all tried the different
steps we have found online
