Xbox party and game connection issue

I’m currently at college and I’m trying to play Xbox with other people here. When we try to connect to an Xbox party nobody can connect and it gets disbanded. This occurs with some games like rainbow six siege and hunter call of the wild. In siege they can join the party but when we search a game it crashes. In the hunter call of the wild I can’t join any multiplayer game even people not on the same WiFi as me. It’s definitely the WiFi here as I’ve tried using a phone hotspot and everything works as normal. Is their any fix to this or any known issue that can be resolved?

Hello there,

Different NAT types can definitely cause issues in a party chat and in a game. Your network connection can also cause issues in a party chat and in a game. The strength of the Wireless Connection, bandwidth and other people using devices on the same connection.
All of this can cause issues.

It is possible that the college's network has any restrictions on gaming or Xbox services. If so, you may need to contact the college's IT department to see if they can make any changes to allow Xbox services.

You may also try the following steps to see if these will help.

1. Try resetting your Xbox console's network settings. To do this, go to Settings > Network > Network settings > Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address > Clear > Restart.

2. If the issue persists, you can try using a wired connection instead of a wireless connection. This can help improve the stability of the connection.

Try having each person host the party and invite everyone else. I have a few friends this does this to and we always have to have someone else host and invite. Have yet to figure out it does that other than possibly the internet connection.
