  1. Xbox parental settings

    Hello,

I have a problem with my son's age restrictions on his new Xbox One S, which may stem back to our original beige Xbox 360 we had 5 or 6 years ago. At the time, I set the age restriction at 7 years old, because that's how old he was and everything was fine.
If a game was deemed suitable it was put on the exceptions list. The hard drive on the old Xbox packed up some time ago and I now cannot change any details on it, because it won't boot up.

For this Christmas I got him an Xbox One for Christmas and the "fixed" age restriction appears to be still in place and will not allow him to play any games that he eligible for. He is now 12 but cannot play 12 rated games without my having to log on and
override the block. The new Xbox also requests permission for me as a parent to be allowed to play games over 7 which the old Xbox never did and I cannot understand this at all.

I also have the problem that I'm told when I sign in to Microsoft's website on my pc that I have more than one account linked to my e-mail address. I can't understand how that has happened, as I created a new e-mail address so that my son used mine and
I used the new one to verify his Microsoft Gold account.

What I need is for my son's restrictions to be lifted completely so that I can reset them again. Please could you help with this issue, as it is very quickly becoming impossible to manage, with the Xbox One requesting permission every time he tries to
    do something?

    Cheers folks!

    :)

Hi once an age is set it's permanent. This is to stop kids from changing there age after the fact to bypass things. You can change the age but it won't be recognized.

You need to start a family account and make a parent profile

    https://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/security/add-family-member-on-xbox-one

This way you can make your own account and adjust privacy settings and stuff for the children.

It's impossible for 2 accounts to be linked to one email. Each Xbox Live account is separate.

    Hi HD ConnectiioN,

To answer your first question, I highly suggest following
    this guide.
For your case, it is pure gold.

As for your second question, I believe you will be able to remove the password once you upgrade your child account to an adult account.

Let me know if you have any further questions!
