Xbox out of box will insert disc games

I just hooked up the Xbox and when trying to insert game it will not take. I hear mechanism running but it won't pull in disc. Almost sounds like grinding. Gave a little force behind disc, still no luck. I can only assume this is faulty equipment? Tried
another game disc, same issue

Discs wont read, weird thudding sound and nothing reads not games or movies

Brand new out of box, both of us set up our profiles, put in a disc and nothing happens, click on insert disc and weird thudding sound (electronic not mechanical) wth?

Hope this is in the right place...

Basically, I keep inserting this game into my Xbox One and it keeps asking me to "insert the first disc" - which is a problem because this is the only disc that's in the box. I get error "0x8082000e". I've rebooted the Xbox. I've checked the back of the disc.
No dice.

 

Sound like it might be faulty equipment as you suggested. However, try a power fail/restart just to reset it. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until it shuts down completely. Then unplug the power cable from the back of the console
for 5 minutes. Plug it back up restart and test. Good Luck!

 

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried those steps with no luck. Guess it is going back to store.

 

That is probably best since you are having these issues. Don't want to delay with a faulty console. Good Luck!

 

Exchanged today and works like a charm. Was definitely a mechanical defect.
