    Xbox original games on 360


    Trying to play an original Xbox game on my 360 but it won't let me, I have played this game on a 360 before so I know it should but don't have a clue why it won't let me any ideas?

    Hey there Xbox original games on 360 :)

    To play original xbox games on the xbox 360 you need to have a harddrive to play them. I would belive you already have one but just had to post it in case. Xbox original games on 360 :)

    If you want to play an original Xbox game on your Xbox 360 make sure you have an official Xbox 360 hard drive and that the game is on this list

    are you on a 360 that has no hard drive now aka a 4 gig model if so you need a hard drive to play any game.

    I have the same question. Although I bought an "E" with only 4 gb. It did say I needed a hard drive so I bought one with 500 gb. Now is still says I can't play it and directs me to www.xbox.com/games which tells me absolutely nothing. I did check and
    the hard drive is being seen ok. I spent over a half hour with one of their support people, but she had no clue and so I am hoping someone here has a solution. thanks

    well where did you get the 500 gig while most will think that they only came in 250 and 320 the 500 is a legit size recently added. but a lot of vendors may sell ones in that size but are not legit MS brand ones. so if you got a non legit 500 gig drive
    then you will have issues playing old games.

    The most common problem is either with the game and/or the hard drive.

    For example, some original xbox games are able to be played.

    The problem with the hard drive is the it can only play original xbox games if your xbox has a Microsoft brand hard drive.

    You'd need to do exactly what the message tells you to. You need to attach an original Xbox 360 hard drive to your console in order to be able to play original Xbox games.

    If you have a Xbox 360 S 4GB or a Xbox 360 Original Arcade console then you'd need to get yourself an original Xbox 360 hard drive (either for the original Xbox 360, or the Xbox 360 Slim). This information is told to you when purchasing the game in the games
    description. An original Xbox 360 hard drive can be purchased from most gaming related retail stores like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Gamestop, etc.

    "An Xbox 360 hard drive is required to use this item"

    Hello spedpickle, yes, the 360 supports it, but most original Xbox games will only run on 360 if they are installed on the original Xbox 360 internal HD.

    Hi, is the game an original Xbox game or an Xbox 360 game? That message usually is for an original Xbox game. If it is an original Xbox game, then the hard drive you installed is not an official Xbox 360 hard drive, which you need to play those games.
