    Xbox or router issue?

    This is a strange one.

My xbox one connects to my network without any issues when I have it in my bedroom on the third floor of the house.

When I bring it downstairs, it connects to the network for about ten minutes then the connection drops entirely for about ten minutes more. This happens repeatedly and I have attempted all the usual resets etc and cannot find a solution. The xbox is closer
to the router downstairs, so if anything, it should have a stronger connection when relocated.

Any ideas what the cause may be?

When the xbox loses connection my phone and laptop continue to maintain a working Internet connection. Only the xbox has the issues which makes me suspect it isn't the router at fault.

    Thanks for any advice!

    :)

    XBOX or MODEM/ROUTER?

So I moved into a house recently and had Cox Communications set up my wifi. We used our own router and modem and my Xbox was able to connect to wifi just fine. Today I turned on the xbox and it wont connect to wifi at all. I've restarted the modem and
since it's not a Cox issued modem i cant check to see if there is any MAC address filtering. Can it be my xbox wearing out? Please send help.

  3. Router, or Computer?

Bridging your connection though a PC will cause more connection issues than going through the router, for sure.

    Xbox or router issue?

Your WiFi signal may be getting interrupted by a phone signal or it is to close to an interference source. Are you able to hard wire your Xbox when it is downstairs? That might solve your problem. I understand it makes it harder to move it around the house
but see if it work in solving your problem.
