Xbox opening screen comes up when I switch on the console....then complete blackness.

Hey bud! I'm in the exact same boat as you at the moment, and I was up all last night trying to get it sorted with customer support. They suggested it was a problem with a recent update and to fix it you would have to do an offline update, which I tried
many times with no joy. Actually it seemed to make it worse, as now I have a screen after startup that says error code E305 00000001 80073CF6, so after speaking to them again today, they said I need a 'NEW' console, not just a repair, so bye bye goes all my
save data progress, I'm heavy *** off.
support.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool This is the link for the offline update, I know it's worked for others, but not for me, nad I'm still a little in the dark as to why it can't be repaired with my saves intact. Anyway, good luck

Thank you! I’m a little bummed out considering but I’m hoping it can be fixed! I have an Xbox one that’s in good condition. And yes exactly. I’ll sign out of my main profile completely before signing into another account and opening the game. I was thinking maybe it was a corrupt file within my save file but that can’t be the case. There’s no code when it crashes which is weird. It’s just the title screen for about 5 seconds, followed by a black screen then I’ll be right back at the home menu. And not that I know of, unless that comes installed when you first set up your Xbox. I reset the console multiple times by unplugging, 10 second resets and this morning a complete reset of the system. After that I re installed the game and it still won’t open.

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue with black screen. When you open games is it still black? You can try the

troubleshooter for blank screen. Try this out and let us know. It is possible the console itself was damaged also.

i have the same problem while playing the screen goes black for 2 seconds and then comes normal again. It always do it when i switch on the xbox one after a while.

Quick update

Well it crashed again this morning would let me open the guide but i couldn't open anything else or control the dashboard, had the same shut down issue screen goes black but power light keeps flashing.

Upside i found out why the screen stays black when it's switched on, because the boot animation/splash screen/green Xbox screen is missing. you would think the repair centre would have noticed that. At this point i want my chirping fan console back, sure
it was annoying but at least it worked.
