    Xbox Open Nat PC Moderate Nat in Ark


    I habe an xfinity router. My pc and xb1 are wired. I have all ports forwarded. I have Ark on my pc as a dedicated server and we play on2 xbox 1s in the house. No problem. But if we invite a friend from outside our house - he get a join failed message.
    Xbox is open and pc win 10 is mocderate with xbox gold on all systems. No issues playing together on games not using the pc. Any ideas? Restarted and did the fix it button thing. Teredo app was deleted and reinstalled and it went from strict to moderate. The
    ports are set up in Norton. Thanks

    I‘ve checked the NAT-type on the Xbox and PC:

    XBOX: Mostly open, but sometimes it states moderate, if I test the NAT multiple times.

    PC Companion App: Always moderate. How can I switch it to open on PC?

    Well it will work, but you will be sharing your PC's internet connection to your Xbox and that means you will be NAT'ing again. So.. say for example you have an Open NAT on GFW on your PC it will likely be moderate when shared to your Xbox. If your PC NAT

    @Bobmcfly247 A fully compatible router should allow an open NAT on both Xboxes not moderate. If you have a moderate Nat then you have a router with crap UPnP support.

    On a good router your Xbox will open a different UPnP port rather than the standard one if it's already mapped to another device. This keeps the NAT open on both. On a bad router this will fail and you get a moderate or strict Nat.

    Ok, I imagine your NAT type might have something to do with it. This page here has

    NAT information about Xbox One    , but the port information will remain the same for PC. You'll want to get that to AT LEAST moderate, but Open would be best. Are you familiar with NAT or opening ports on your router?
