Xbox only turns on when console update is due

I have the original day one Xbox One and it's worked perfectly fine until recently that one thing seems to kill it completely and that's power cuts. After a power cut its completely dead, nothing happens and I've tried all the power reset troubleshooters and nothing works. The only time it comes back to life is when theres a console update so sometimes it can be months of waiting for an update to happen, after that it's completely normal until theres another powercut.

Does anyone know any solution to this? is it the console itself or the power brick?

Already tried them and no joy, like I say it will only come back to life when theres a console update for some reason.

In regards to the Xbox staying online even when switched off, that is due to the power settings on your console.

If you wish to change this here is a link you may find helpful: https://support.xbox.com/en-AU/xbox-one/console/learn-about-power-modes

If you do wish to change this setting your console will not update when turned off, Updates have to be done manually.

Maybe this isn't due to the September update. Turned on console this morning, it wants to do a 259mb update, however due to my issue, the system can't restart after and its stuck in a loop.

I tried this too and nothing. It wouldn't let me set up the Xbox afterwards because it needed that update. Before I factory reseted it, it had 3 options. "Update" "play offline" and "turn off console." After the factory reset I was then stuck on the setup with only two options "update" and "turn off console." When I tried to update my console refused to turn on again like it was doing before
