Xbox only records two seconds.

A couple weeks ago my xbox started only recording clips for two seconds. I have over 400 gb free and an external hard drive. I set my capture settings to 720p SDR and it reduced the recording time from 5 seconds to 2 seconds.

Have you checked All Captures to see if you have used up your space allocation or are close to doing so (eg 95 to 100%)? If so, then you'll have to delete some videos before you will be able to record any more.

I've got the 1 second issue with "Xbox record that" but also when I ask it to record the previous 5 minutes, it will only record 12 seconds , the same happens with 30 seconds, two minutes and so on, what do I do!????

I'm having similar issues but whereas mine is recording when I say "Xbox record that" it is only recording less than a second of video

snap the dvr to the side of the screen, then you can record between 30 seconds and 5 minutes at a time, xbox record that command only records past 30 seconds as a way of recording an epic moment. remember to switch between programs you double tap the xbox
button on the controller.

So recently when I record a clip (30 seconds 1080p), it will usually record only the first 5-7 seconds of the clip. I am not low on my storage for clips or for my Xbox One X in general. I've been playing Gears 5 and want to record a highlight but its frustrating
when only a few seconds record. I've reset my Xbox already, ideas?

Change it to 720p that fixed this issue for me the other day 😶
