Xbox only listens to voice commands

    Xbox only listens to voice commands


    Here are the problems me and my father are currently having:

    • controller won't move (ie cursor)
    • Games won't play when asked
    • Only voice recognition works
    • Can't sign in or change players
    We can turn the console off using voice recognition but once we play again it goes back to the same screen.

    Has anyone have these problems before if so please let us know. We have had this console for only 3 weeks.

    Xbox only listens to voice commands

    Sorry to hear it. When the console is on please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down then unplug everything from it for 5 minutes.

    My gf strenuously objected to the camera in the bedroom, even if it was only listening for voice commands

    Voice recognition is crap on all devices

    I've never been a fan of voice recognition until I tried it on the Xbox One. Voice commands on the Xbox One work very well for me and even if I whisper it listens to me. The only command I struggle with is party chat, but I'm
    guessing the issue is the way I pronounce it because every other command works perfectly.

    I decided to disconect the new Kinect 2.0

    The only time it should ever start listening is if you say "Xbox". That's the cue word for it. I haven't had any issues at all with voice commands and when I do, it's user error.

    kinect is capable of being turned off
