    Xbox Ones screen going grey/black when turning it on


    For 3 days my xbox ones screen would go grey/black anytime I turned it on. After a while it would put me on the menu screen with no issues, however, this time it stays on the grey / black screen. The time before it completely stopped working a pop up said that the cache was full and at the time I did nothing about it. I don't think I’m able to clear the cache now as the menu will no longer come up, however, I have tried all of the turn off turn on, hold disc button, unplug power cable for … time. Additionally my wifi stopped working before my xbox cut out so I played games that didn't require wifi and potentially filled the cache without it saving. Let me know if theres anything I can do about this, however, theres a chance it might work after I get my wifi back. Additionally if it helps when I turn on the xbox the green loading screen still comes on and the pop up for turning off the controller etc still appears. Thanks, Sid

    Hope you are well. I'll be glad to assist you.

    I'm sorry you're experiencing these issues.

    One way to clear the cache is to hold down the power button until it turns off, unplug the console, plug it back in. If this process did not work for you and you still get this message and you can open the console settings, Go to Settings>System>Console Information

    And restart keeping your games.

    Note that the console accounts will be removed, so you will need to have the email and password for each account to log back in.

    Your progress, achievements, purchases and other data will remain intact, don't worry about that, you won't lose any data, the only thing you need to do is to log in again.

    Hey there, thanks for answering. I have tried to do the power button method and it didn't seem to work. I am also unable to do the second step as the screen on my xbox stays grey/black so I can’t operate the menu.

    Will give it a go on another monitor, thanks. Have tried a different HDMI and there wasn't a difference, seems more on the console itself.

    Please check if this same behavior occurs when you connect your console to another TV or monitor, also using another HDMI cable if you have that opportunity.
