Xbox One's Parity Clause

So I'm wrong? Someone who still owns every PS console made ( 3 still hooked up to TV's...ps1, 3 and 4), has been part of that community since day one and spends time in the gaming forums dedicated to PS games ( not the official forums ).

The two biggest reasons people bought PS4's ( and the reason I own one ).....bare bones, quick, clean gaming console and game library.

You're living in the Fanboy world. You're in the minority being there too.....not all gamers believe the hype and garbage throw around by the media or lose sleep over how xxxxNinjaBoyxxx thinks my console of choice isn't as good as his...some of us are smarter
than that and it's insulting that you believe the PS4 owners aren't.

I've played a half dozen or so multiplats on the two consoles and I can't see the difference on a 60 in TV.....and I'm a PC gamer that tends to notice FPS drops, screen tearing, etc. The "power" isn't what separates the two consoles it's the other stuff.

If it is an Indie game coming out on Playstation first then Xbox will not get it. It's in Microsofts Parity Clause...

I'd say the parity clause doesn't exist. Rocket league came to ps4 and PC well before Xbox one

What people like is always opinion, I love turned based games but I'm the first to admit it's not a hugely popular genre. You can kid yourself all you like but your opinion (which you're entitled to have) isn't shared by the masses.

 

My god, how much do I have to break it down before you stop listening to only yourself? I said not ALL PS4 buyers had indie titles in mind. I said there are going to be lots of people who buy the PS4 for it's power. That is what I said. Somehow you have
twisted this around into me stating nobody buys PS4 for the indie titles, which I DID NOT.

Once again YOU have stated Ryse had no substance. I deliberately didn't mention the gameplay because I knew we would end up here.

Kidding myself if I think my opinion isn't shared by the masses? Said the pot to the kettle. What factual proof that is not some biased poll, unfounded article from a nobody site, or youtuber rant, do you have? You just said you don't spend time in the official
PS forums, so what, the buyers in there acting like brain dead apes, yacking about the power of Sony or the Xbox One res deficiency don't count as PS4 buyers now? Convenient.

You keep twisting my words all you want, but you have become so biased in this conversation, and so irrationally convinced by your own postings, that I am running out of ways to break down my points any smaller. And yes, you are singling me out- 'your opinion
is not shared', 'You are what Microsoft views as the general consumer', 'you are making my point about graphics focus', 'You're in the fanboy world', 'you', 'you', 'you'.

You can keep believing your particular section of PS4 bros represent the general consensus of the community, but you don't receive death threats and spam on a regular basis for choosing Xbox One over PS4. If you think there isn't a multitude of PS4 owners
who are simply buying the 'power console' then I'm afraid you are the one kidding yourself.

Now read this for once- YES. THERE ARE MANY INDIE LOVERS TRANSFERING OVER FROM PS3 WHO VALUE THE INDEPENDANT GAME COMMUNITY. BUT THERE ARE ALSO A SHED LOAD OF FORMER XBOX 360 POWER HOUR FOOLS WHO ARE JUST HOPPING OVER TO THE SIDE WITH MORE POWER, AS WELL

Okay? You are right, there are plenty of loyal indie lovers who jumped from PS3 to PS4, but I am also right in saying that this does not represent EVERY SINGLE PS4 owner, which was why I laughed at the first post in the first place. You can keep pretending
these trend following zombies don't exist on PS4 if you like, but the FACT IS they DO.

 

Right, I'm cooling down after that. I respect you Randver, I honestly do. You post well, and you post without holding back. And as I said, on closer inspection I mean to support Indie titles more. I admire your determination, and your ability to stick to
your guns. Really, I do. But this has gone quite far enough. We are not going to agree on the PS4 community in any way, shape, or form. So let's leave it as the case for indie titles on Xbox One, and PS4.

You and I belong to very different gaming communities. I probably won't get anyone to back me up or defend me for this statement here but.....

You're part of the group of gamers that have a loyalty to a company rather than a hobby. You lack the ability to be objective and your comments/statements/opinions bring out your peers on the other side. Ever ask yourself why you get "death threats" and
spam? You've put yourself in a position to be part of the dark side of gaming.

Every comment I've made on the subject of why people bought PS4's, popularity of games or genres, etc can be easily verified by leaving these forums and doing a little research. This is the only forum I participate in that has the "fanboy" crowd and I'm
only here because they're are several people here I can have objective/respectful conversations with.

We had these same discussions at launch regarding the Kinect, etc. You did what you're doing now to me, accusing me of being some egotistical, out of touch fanboy that values his opinions to much. As far as you're concerned I one of "them", part of the
community you normally associate with. I'm not, I've been gaming for 40 plus years, have been a part of the online community since day one and keep myself educated and in touch with the entire gaming world.....I'm not a fanboy,

You take all this very personal....it's a gaming console, it's not worth it.

I was typing my response and didn't see your last post until I posted so if you took anything in it the wrong way my intention wasn't to insult you (not today or in the past).

 

I don't feel insulted. Not any more. I certainly wasn't attempting to insult you either. In any case, I never put myself in a position to be targeted by Angry fanboys. I'm attacked for my Youtube Channel, in which I game on my Xbox Obviously, although I've
never had a bad word to say about PS4 in a single video, but after me they did come. I maintain to this day there will be a PS4 in my house in the future, but only when I'm confident I will get a worthy amount of immersion out of it. This is what I have stated
on my channel. Somehow this has been turned into an attack on PS4 that must be dealt with aggressively. You don't choose to live in the fanboy world Randver, it finds you. In modern gaming if you dare have a voice, it finds you. And you know what? I could
care less. I just ignore it.

Bare bones alright, but I thought you were saying that more choice is good?

I think the game library is much better especially on the Exclusive front with X1 plus a better app selection and functionality.

Indies anf free to play will never sustain the gaming industry alone. What do you think caused the last gaming crash?

A flood of less than stellar games. Everything must be balanced.

I bought my One and PS4 to game on so when I say "bare bones" I'm referring to the PS4's lack of bloatware. Less stuff loading/running the better.

I have Roku's on all my TV's which give me an app library that neither console comes anywhere close to providing. So yeah more choice is good and neither console wins that war.

Exclusives for the consoles and what's better is debatable based on preference. Both consoles have released exclusives I've enjoyed and others that didn't live up to the hype...what the future holds who knows.

 

Well I guess myself and many others bought it for the games and what you call "Bloatware." Havent bought a game I was disappointed with yet, but I do pick carefully.

I thought bloatware was a term everyone was familiar with, it's been used in the computer world for decades. Anyone who's bought a Dell or Toshiba computer definitely knows what it is even if they don't know the term. It just refers to software installed
on a system that the end user won't be using and in most cases loads on boot.

It's hard to debate the quality of the games on each system without bringing personal preference into it but if we let the "professionals" provide us a starting point.....

Xbox One has 10 games with a metacritic over 85, one of those games is an indie. (Minecraft is missing for some reason so we'll go 11 games 2 indie)

PS4 has 18 games over 85 and 6 are indies.

So both systems have quality games and probably not a lot of disappointed people on either side.

 

I don't put any weight in metacritic scores eg giving BF4 85 and Destiny 76 and Driveclub 72? sure!!!!. I know what Bloatware is but using it to describe the X1 is rather odd and false. I once had a Toshiba with Windows which was the reason I moved backed
to Apple which I grew up using as a kid in the 80's in no way does the X1 operate like that. I think you need your X1 seen to for warranty.
