Xbox One's Dolby 12-bit audio

Discus and support Xbox One's Dolby 12-bit audio in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Is Xbox 1's Dolby audio better than Xbox 360's Dolby sound audio? Xbox One's Dolby 12-bit audio

Is Xbox 1's Dolby audio better than Xbox 360's Dolby sound audio?

I don't mean for this to be a comparison here, but I thought I'd bring this out since both consoles belong to the Xbox family. I have an Xbox 360 slim 250GB console, and a Day One Xbox 1 console with Kinect, and a Sony 40' KDL40EX720 HDTV. Both consoles
are connected via HDMI. When I play with my Xbox 1, my TV says I have Dolby Digital 1080p 12-bit audio from my Xbox 1 console. But when I have my Xbox 360 on, my TV says I have Dolby Digital 1080p.

Is Dolby Digital this > 12 bit..... better than Xbox 360's Dolby sound? What's the "12-bit" for?

I've had Xbox 1 since Day One, and noticed that Xbox 1 only had Uncompressed Stereo at Launch, not Dolby, until Microsoft rolled out an Update for Xbox 1 a few weeks after Launch.

    :)

Dolby digital via optical port, but when?

Titanfall comes out next month yay. Back to Dolby, M REALLY should have Dolby support. Xbox 360 has it. Why not Xbox 1? Xbox 1 needs to support Dolby via Optical Port. AND the HDMI connection to your HDTV (360 does). I have a Hauppauge PVR2 and when I use
the HDMI in/out on it for recording videos, it's stereo only through my 2x 10W speakers on my full HDTV. But when I connect my 360 console directly to my TV it's Dolby 1080p. I can clearly tell the difference even on my HDTV's 2 10w speakers when my console
is producing a Stereo or Dolby sound from my 360 slim console. Dolby fact has MORE detail in it's audio. There's no reason why Dolby shouldn't be on Xbox 1. Games are not just about graphics, but about the AUDIO too and Dolby does BETTER than "uncompressed
    stereo/Stereo 1080p 12 bit).

    Hi Jon81D,

sorry to hear and sorry I only use "Dolby Atmos for Headsets", wich is not for free.

Because you write a lot about the Setup, but nothing about the app: Did you read "Dolby Atmos for home theater can be experienced for free through your Dolby Atmos supported home theater system, sound bar, or TV.
To enable on your Xbox One, install and open the Dolby Accessapp, and follow the instructions
    provided
    "? Please also read
    "Audio Output"
    and try
"Troubleshoot sound on your Xbox One console"
    .

But if your console is a part of the Preview/Insider programm: "Users who have
Dolby Atmos enabled and console display settings set to 120hz with 36 bits per pixel (12-bit) are experiencing loss of
Dolby Atmos audio in some situations. Workaround : Disable 120hz or set Video Fidelity to 30 bits per pixel (10-bit) or lower."

Hope this helps and please keep us informed

Sorry to hear it. If you're in the Xbox Insiders Preview Program please try the steps listed below to see if they help

Xbox One, Dolby Atmos - 3 months since it worked correctly

As far as my understanding this issue is related to the color bit-depth selected or perhaps the refresh rate when set to 120hz.

Personally, I'm using 1440p, 120hz, and 10-bit. I haven't had any major issues using Dolby Atmos with this setting.

Although, once or twice I've had to re-open the Dolby app to re-apply the settings.

Here is the current known issue and workaround. I hope this helps

    Atmos only outputs Multichannel

    Hi there,

Are you a part of the Xbox Insider Program at all? In the known bugs section, it has been noted that there has been issues in the past dozen builds when it comes to using headphones that support Atmos, setup and integration with the Dolby Atmos app. There
could be other issues that have not been identified, yours potentially being one. Please give the highlighted workaround, a go:

    latest Xbox Insider blog
