    Xbox One's Bluetooth cannot connect to PC anymore


    I just recently got an Xbox One controller that comes with a Bluetooth connection. I used it for a couple of weeks wireless without any problem or connectivity issues whatsoever, until tonight. Windows 10 just did not want to connect with it. I removed
    the device from the list and tried to re-connect it via add Bluetooth device and add device option to no avail. It works fine with USB, and the wireless connection has been working fine for the 2 weeks when I used it. I tested my Bluetooth dongle and it works
    with other devices, so the dongle is not the problem. Both my Windows and controller are updated so I honestly don't understand why Windows just stopped detecting the controller. Anyone has any ideas?

    Hi Thomas,

    Unfortunately the Xbox Elite Wireless controller is not Bluetooth capable. Only the current Xbox One Wireless controllers have Bluetooth technology and they can only connect to Windows 10 PC's. The Xbox Elite controller will need an Xbox Wireless Adapter
    in order to connect to the PC wireless. Xbox One controllers cannot currently connect to mobile phones in any way unfortunately.

    Apologies for the inconvenience but I'm sure Microsoft will include Bluetooth technology in the next iteration of the Elite controller sometime in the near future and possible make a way to connect to mobile phones. Maybe you can post this idea over on
    Xbox Ideas to get this seen by the right people.

    Xbox One S Bluetooth Compatibility...

    The redesigned controller has added Bluetooth to make it easier to connect to a W10 PC. That is all. The Xbox One S does not use Bluetooth to connect to the controller.

    Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

    Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

    Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

    The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

    Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

    Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

    The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

    Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

    I have done all of that, I cannot update my controller because as previously stated I cannot get the controller to connect my controller to the PC to update. As for bluetooth, Bluetooth updating is not something you can do.
