    Xbox OneGuide not displaying correctly after most recent update.


    Hey, I'm hoping someone has some insight on an issue I'm having with the Xbox One Guide after the most recent update. My live TV is no longer being displayed with proper aspect ratio. I've never had this issue before - everything worked fine, and then, after
    an update a few days ago, I get a black border a few inches wide around the live TV screen. This border does not appear on any apps or games, only when I click through to the OneGuide. I've played with all the video setting in Xbox and Oneguide and changed
    the aspect ration on my actual TV. Nothing works. I've also tried unplugging all the while and checking connections, cycling the power on both the xbox and the cable box, and reset OneGuide completely. Nothing works. I'm especially annoyed because everything
    was fine until the update. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

    AARGH! TV doesn't work any more :(

    TV/OneGuide has worked flawlessly for me since day one. It has something to do with the most recent update. Hopefully, the update didn't damage the console. Is that even possible???

    This is happening to me too. My Xbox just constantly shows a black screen and I’ve tried doing everything you’ve mentioned. I’ve actually got a spare Xbox one from my family and I plugged that in, it asked for an update and once it had updated it was nothing but black screen!

    Any further help on this issue would be appreciated.

    Mine also. I have tried everything listed but I simply cannot access the troubleshoot menu or I'd do a factory reset real quick lol.

    Can't Watch SD

    Hi Dark TBh,

    In order to display the SD versions of channels there is a setting on the Xbox One that you can toggle to display those in the OneGuide TV listings. While watching LiveTV press the Menu (old start) button to being up the menu and select settings. Then
    go into the OneGuide and uncheck the Box that says "Hide SD Channel duplicates" After that the OneGuide will display both HD and SD versions of the same channel so if you want to watch it in SD you can. I do have one suggestion if you do this. On your Cable
    Box go into the settings and select the output you normally watch TV at such as 720p etc. The reason for this is some cable boxes like to send out a new signal every time the user changes to a channel with a different native resolution and this forces the
    Xbox One to examine the feed for 5-20 sec to make sure it is displaying it correctly. As far as your DVR question we do support various media controls while watching a channel by pressing A on the controller however a previously recorded show saved to your
    DVR is something we are working on adding support for. In order to use the media controls with a cablebox that has DVR/Tivo capabilities it is very important that it is setup correctly under the TV devices.
