    If your son deleted it off the console all you would have to do is sign in with the email and password that is associated with the account.

    If you dont remember what the email is you can contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and give them your gamertag and if they can verify ownership of the account can give you the email associated with the account.

    Its technically a different device with a different OS. How can it swap XBOX's without needing to reformat?
