Xbox one xs digital settings wont open/gone

Hello Jude, I don't know which screen your Xbox is on, but try to perform the procedure below that would be Bind EJECT, it will take you to the device maintenance menu.

Bind Eject Xbox One

Turn off the console and unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely turned off.

Wait 30 seconds and plug the power cord back in.

Hold down the BIND (located at the bottom front of the console) and EJECT (located on the front of the console) and press the Xbox button on the console.

NOTE: Bind is the pairing button of the control.

Continue by pressing the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10 to 15 seconds.

Listen to the two tones of "activation", with a few seconds of difference between them.

Release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second activation tone.

If your console is the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, it doesn't have the EJECT button. You can turn on Xbox Startup Troubleshooting on this console by keeping only the BIND button and then pressing the Xbox button.

When you're on the recovery screen, choose the "Reset while keeping games and Apps" option.

Note:

-You need to know the email and passwords of your accounts when performing this reset.

-No data or game save will be lost doing this, everything is done in backup to the cloud servers.

If it does not return to normal after this procedure, proceed with an offline update.

Hello Darcy, usually in third-party accessories like the control for example, they have their own drivers (software) that might allow these settings.

Same happening to me with brand new X. Can play digital Tina wonderlands xbox one lesser version just fine but try the XS version it freezes in minutes. Shuts off and when turn back on no message. Have tried all the resets only thing left is changing 4k and HDR settings. Which will take it back to having an original xbox one so what’s the point

Let’s Power Cycle the Console: Please unplug from the power supply for two minutes then try again.

Sorry to hear about that.

That powercycling step that was previously posted would be a great step to try but if that doesn't work, then you might want to try going through a soft reset through the troubleshooting menu.

Here are some steps on how to do that straight from our page
Troubleshoot Xbox One startup errors :

1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
   
2. Wait 30 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.
3. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the
   EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the
   Xbox button on the console.
4. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
   
5. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the
   BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
   
6. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.
   

When prompted, select Keep games and apps. This option will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps.

Give them a shot if powercycling doesn't work and it should clear up your issue.
