Xbox one/xbox video service issue

Good morning,

Spent half an hour last night on live support chat failing to even get the nature of this issue through before the chat was abruptly disconnected. I'm hoping this might garner a better result or at least an iunderstanding of what I'm trying to achieve and
how it is good for xbox and their goal of integrating into my family entertainment. In a nutshell;



I owned an xbox 360 that was set up in the childrens play room. I own an xbox one that is set up in the lounge room.

I sign in to the xbox 360 and start a movie on xbox live for the kids (I have purchased more than 50 movies on xbox video). I go to the lounge room and play games, watch another movie on xbox live or whatever I want. I am signed in to both consoles and
have never had an issue.



I upgraded the kids to an xbox one yesterday (spoilt brats). Trouble ensued.



I start a movie on the xbox one in the kids room. As the lounge room xbox has my foxtel, tv via tbox and everything going through it, it is constantly on so it signs me in when I come back to the lounge room.

The new xbox in the children's room automatically signs me out as I can't be signed into two xbox one's at the same time as I did with the 360 and the movie stops. This buggers everything.

In an attempt to fix this I created a child account linked to mine, set up the restrictions/limitations and off we go. I actually like this much more than what I was doing except, I find that the child profile does not have access to my xbox video account
and therefore still cannot watch the movies I have purchased.



There must be a way to resolve this. As implied above; I have gone all in on these consoles. I buy my movies, play and download my games as well as run my home entertainment and the childrens home entertainment through these consoles whatever format it comes
in. In my house the xbox turns on with the TV in both rooms. I
upgraded my children's console and purchased a problem. Please someone listen to the consumer and find a way to make this workable and keep in mind that if I go to a store and buy the DVD I don't have this issue. It just means I wasted the money on 50
movies I'm unlikely to get much use out of going forward and xbox loses a loyal household.

360 Elite is flashing a red light and nothing is displaying on screen

how many lights are flashing? one means there is something wrong with the power brick. two means there is a problem with one of the cords, usually not being plugged in correctly. three is the rrod. four (whole circle flashing) means it's a video issue with either the cable or the video card in the xbox. most likely it will have to be sent in for service.

Have you checked the restrictions on the child account?

The default settings may be restricting what apps or movies the child account has access to.

Hopefully this is the issues and is easily resolved, but if it's not hopefully we can find out what the problem is!

 

Tried giving him unrestricted access to no avail. It seems to treat the child account as having it's own xbox video account (ie. he would purchase his own movies that I then would not see on my list as the accounts are separate).

I believe the system is doing exactly what it is designed to do, but I also think the system does not deal with a family home that has more than one xbox well and I'm annoyed that I have invested significant money into digital purchases and have lost flexibility
by upgrading the children to an xbox one from the 360. If I go out today and buy another 360 to set them up with the problem goes away but I don't think that is right. The xbox one should be able to manage. There must be many people like myself that grew up
with xbox that now have one for themselves and one for the children. If you want to encourage us to buy our entertainment from xbox live (which is exactly what I want and have done) we have to able to give all the household consoles access to all of our digital
purchases or I loose too much flexibility over purchasing a physical disc that I can move around the house. Signing in to both consoles with one profile is messy (ala what I did when I had one 360 and one one) and the child account set-up is magnificent. It
just needs to be able to play my games and watch my movies rather than have it's own account profile.

 

I understand, and I'm sorry it doesn't work for you right now. Admittedly, I don't have to deal with this issue as I don't have children (I'm 21) and I am the only person to use the console. Here is a link to a website that allows you to provide feedback

Xbox is constantly updating their system software with new features. If you submit a response on that website they'll take a look at it and see what they can do. It may not be very quick, but it may be something that can get added down the line.
