Xbox One "Xbox button" will not bring up the power down menu.

In all honesty, the button only seems to work once in a while. 75% working, 25% weird stuff happening. I am new to XBO and I am wondering if it is like the 360 where you hold the "X" button, a menu comes up, and you can choose to
power down the system. If it does this and my controller is not, should I look into a replacement? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Media remote won't power off console

I have been experiencing a relatively new issue with my Xbox One Media remote. Holding down the Xbox button does not bring up the menu to power down the console. I have tried a fresh set of batteries and even restarting my system, however nothing works.

Has anyone else been experiencing the same issue? Any suggestions?

 

Home Button Not Working

Seriously, this started a few days ago. Could get out of the Blu-ray.

Now playing a game and can't get back home.

I press the home button and I hear the side menu pop up, but nothing is showing.

If I long press the home button it bring up the console power down, narrator, and magnifier menu. So the home button is working.

Just not for bringing up the side menu.

Holding the Home button is very similar to the Xbox 360 except in addition to Turn off the controller and the console, there is also the ability to end streaming if streaming to the PC, and you can also report a problem (don't recall if this option is only
for preview users or for everyone). It should be functioning this way. Try power cycling your console by holding the Xbox power button for 10 seconds or until it turns off. Boot it back up and see if things work now.

This power cycling process can fix a variety of issues. So keep that in mind if you every have profile issues, installation issues, etc.

 

As much as I appreciate your help, it doesn't work. I believe I have tried everything, syncing, rebooting, usb cables, updating, and just about every "by the book" response. I think it may be a bad controller. The Xbox button just wouldn't turn on the XBO
wirelessly, but I then connected it to the console with an usb cable and it turned it on...

 

May be a faulty controller. I'd recommend try to borrow one from a friend, syncing it up with your console, and seeing if you can get the process to work with that one. Depending on how much of a problem it is for you, you can go through
