XBOX ONE X

Discus and support XBOX ONE X in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; To me, this push for 4K console gaming is as bad as the whole 3D push a few years ago. Yes, the industry is pushing to sell new stuff. Does HDR... Discussion in 'XBoX on Consoles' started by APEXASSASSlN, Jun 11, 2017.

Yes, the industry is pushing to sell new stuff.

Does HDR displays have 4 times stronger whitest white and blackest black - that is what 10 bits compared to 8 bits suggest?

If you have gradients of light in sunsets and whatnot - will it look smoother on HDR - maybe?

I saw some HDR demos at PS4 Pro launch announcement - and they really exaggerated the lighting conditions of a sunset.

My view is that you could not see a difference if you made that with 8 bits gradient or 10 bits.

It's all mapped into the max contrast that display can show you between whitest white and blackest black.

But Sony is in the forefront of selling 3D everything, and going for the rest too, I guess - 4K, HDR.

Smaller digital cinemas with 5m wide screens use 4K some of them still. 8K on the rise, but still - on smaller home screens, what good is it?

Mike Cerny at Sony recommended at least 60" monitor at normal living room watching distance like 2-2.5m or so - or you won't even see a difference to 1080p.

It's so easy to be trapped with - more pixels is better.

I started doing video last fall, and studied a bit on streaming and picture quality and stuff.

Some claim that bitrate is more important than actuall pixels.

Everything we watch is compressed, even on disk - don't forget that. So extra pixels might be worse, since bitrate has to go down with the bandwidth you can distribute.

I'm looking forward to this. The only downside is I live in the UK and the internet is very slow. Not looking forward to downloading 4k games. Also think the HDD is not big enough.

    XBOX ONE X

I wrote this over two months ago, but it was only TODAY that I was cleaning my "broken" X360 when I accidently hit the power button and all of a sudden it sprang to life! NO RED RING!!! XBOX ONE X :D

I have multiple inputs on my receiver so when I switched to the 360 channel there was a notification telling me the console had performed an "auto shutdown" and that if I wanted to avoid this problem in future I should check my ventilation. :O Obviously,
I had long since resigned myself to writing the machine off and even planned to shelve it (or return it to its packing carton) in order to make room for a shiny new PS4 Pro, but now... now?? Now my beloved Xbox 360 will remain right where it is! XBOX ONE X :)

Of course, I do plan to unhitch the HD DVD player to free up space for the Pro, but this is great news! Instead of a museum piece, I'm now gonna have FOUR functioning consoles, and all of 'em in matching white!! Microsoft may no longer manufacture shiny
new 360s, but it's nice to know that *my* 360 never says die!! #respect

I like it. It helps the overall gaming community move forward by introducing it.

It allows developers less limitations when creating new games. Not to mention, the specs are top of the line for consoles at least.

Looking forward to seeing what it can do. Can't wait to see a Sci-fi/Space related games run on it.

Will Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Xbox one edition work on my Xbox?

There is no xbox one x edition it's just xbox one version

There is no x or one requirement for Xbox one games. Xbox one x has more power that's it

Series consoles have more powrr in spades from xbox one

And there is no xbox one series x

Just xbox series s or x

    Can't play goat simulator 3???

It actually would. There's an Xbox One, One S, and One X that are all in the same family. Then there is the Series S and Series X that are in a completely different family of consoles.

An Xbox One X is not the same as a Series X. The game will not work on an One X.

Xbox one isn't xbox one s or x compatible they are all compatible it's only the x that has some enhancements but generally the game will download on any xbox one

Series x is just xbox series s or x

    Not xbox one s

NBA 2K24 disc for my console will not even install error code 0x87e10013

No such thing as an Xbox One Series X. The Xbox One family of consoles has an S and an X but are still just Xbox Ones. You need the Series family of consoles. The Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X. These are different from Xbox One S or Xbox One X.

The "One" and "Series" are the console types.
