Xbox One x

Hi Guys / Girls, not sure of this is in the right place....

I've just got a brand spanking new Xbox One X. Set up etc all straightforward. All good.

I also bought Forza 7 and am in the process of updating this game. Now I know the game is HUGE, but is it normal for the installation of the update to be so, so slow? The original download was almost 800mb and that took a little time with a wired connection
to router. But I thought once the download was done, the installation would be quick? Obviously I was wrong. Its almost 2 hrs now and just on 42% installation complete. If this is normal, fair enough. In future, I will do it overnight.

I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this?

I wonder why the HUD lowers the framerate by so much?

 

Games and updates can take a while to download. This solely depends on their file size
and how fast your internet connection is to the Xbox Live servers.

On the Xbox One X, games with 4K assets will have the assets automatically downloaded as a required update. These assets can be up to
twice the size of the original game install. If you have a lot of files to download or games to install, I would recommend allowing the Xbox to do all of that overnight so it isn't interrupted.

Your internet speed plays a major part in this too, along with how congested the Xbox Live servers are at the moment. Microsoft recommends at least a 24/4 internet connection (24Mbps down, 4Mbps up) for gaming and downloads. Expect
network congestion (and therefore, slower downloads) on the day of a new AAA game release, as people from all over the world are trying to download and play the new game on day one (Star Wars BF2 recently came out on the 17th, for example).
