    Had a strange occurrence two days ago with Youtube on XBox.

    Was watching vids like I do everyday, except; all of a sudden the video was closed and "someone" or "somehow" the "app" started browsing through my subscriptions and started playing videos from one or more of those subs.

    My controller was complete locked out. Not just one controller. I just bought a new one so I turned it on and the same thing. The controller would not let me control my console. Again, a third controller with the same result.

    I tried hitting the home key so I could close YT on all three controllers, but that wouldn't work either.

    Finally out of desperation from trying everything to close YT, I used the power button on the console and shut it down.

    After shutting down, I decided to unplug just for safety sake. After restarting, my controller and console worked as normal.

    I know it is said the XBox Network is extremely secure, however; are we sure all of the apps are? We know exploits are constantly being found in apps that allow hackers to get around security.

    Is this the case? What happened? How do I prevent it from happening again?

    I tried that did not work and I tried uninstalling YouTube and reinstalling the app and that did not work. This problem is happening on Xbox one x and Xbox series x!

    So far Destiny 2, Borderlands 3 and now Youtube app turns my xbox one x off. Typical MS they steal money off you but refuse to fix there there useless xbox live.

    Good to know I'm not the only one, it has got worse lately and seems to be just on the Youtube app also, I have the Xbox One X,. I was worried it was my Sony tv at fault at one point but the tv's Youtube app doesn't have the same issue, so it's narrowed
    things down to just that app on the XboxOneX.

    Hopefully as this is fixed (hopefully as soon as possible as it's becoming annoying) a HDR function for the Youtube app will be integrated.

    Yeah 4K is enabled fine, I have a TCL 6 series and I have no issues using Plex or playing games or playing a 4K Bluray on the One X, I ordered brand new cables to swap out the ones I have but I havent had an issue like I said doing anything else
    outside of Youtube and now Netflix it seems, played a ton of games since getting this TV 2 weeks ago and not one single glitch
    interestingly enough my samsung qled sometimes gives weird pink glitches too. i wonder if replacing the hdmi cables would help.

    Just wanted to add my name to this and say that I've been having this quite a bit since I got my 4k TV earlier this year. I don't ever remember it happening when my Xbox One X was connected to my older 1080p set. My current TV is a Sony KD49XF80.

    I see it in YouTube constantly. MSNBC videos, for example, pretty much always reliably glitch on me. If you rewind the video and replay the same section it will normally be fine on a second attempt.

    I feel it's possible I've seen the same glitch on Netflix, just much, much, more rarely, but I can't be certain.

    If it's on two apps you might suspect system-level issues (some video-decoding chip or code acting up), if it's just one app it's probably the app itself. I wish I could be sure. If I see Netflix glitch again I'll reply here.
