Xbox One X won't stay on for more than 5 seconds with no HDMI signal

Hi there, I have had my Xbox One X for just under a year with minimal problems. Recently we unplugged it from the wall to move our TV around. We have done this before with absolutely no problems. After we plugged it back in, our Xbox One X wouldnt turn on.

What happens is when we press the power button, it lights up and plays the "turning on" noise. Then the light stays on for about 5 seconds and then plays the "turning off" noise and the light turns off. All the while there is no signal being picked up by
the TV.

I have tried hard booting by pressing all the buttons and holding them in, absolutely no change. I tried pressing just the bind button and the eject button at the same time and nothing works. Holding the power button in just acts like I pressed it once and
repeats the process outlined above. I have tried leaving it unplugged over night, nothing changed. I have tried different wall outlets, different outlets within our surge protector (which is what it has been plugged into for the entire time we've had it no
problem), I have tried different HDMI ports on our TV. All of these methods return the same results.

A weird thing I noticed is that it plays the "nothing in disc bay" noise when I press the eject button and then turns on the light on the power button but then goes through the same process outlined above. I can place discs in the bay and it accepts them,
but repeats the same on/off process. I can also eject discs, getting the "ejecting disc" noise, but then repeats the on/off process.

I feel like I have tried everything and absolutely nothing is working.

Hi there, thank you for your timely reply.

I have registered my device with Microsoft support. For a service repair, what problem would you suggest I choose? When I choose "Power Supply" it says "Contact Us" and it has me go back to a forum page like this, where I have obviously already posted.

I appreciate your reply, but it is incredibly frustrating to have my Xbox break when it has been less than a year since it's purchase. It hasnt had any extensive use, and all vents have been kept clear and it's been kept is a safe spot. I know you can't
control this, but it is incredibly frustrating for my console to be out of warranty but under a year old and it break so suddenly and permanently. When I am spending hundreds of dollars on games and consoles, I expect them to last for a while.

Hello KTA,

Try selecting no power. When you put the console for shipping can write a little note as to what the issue is. Make sure when you ship only ship the console. No cords, controllers, games inside.

I have the same problem happend to me today try to turn it on it lights up then turns off after 5 seconds

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

In regards to this matter, I fear that this could be something to do with either the power cable you are using or perhaps the internal surge protector in the console.

Since you have already attempted to use different outlets and even left your console unplugged for the internal surge protector to reset itself, the only other option left would be to try a different power cable.

If you don't have that option available for you, then the only other alternative would be to

set-up a service order for the device.

I'm sorry about any sort of turmoil or confusion this might have caused.
