    Xbox One X won't run 1440p at 120hz on Monoprice Zero-G 27in Monitor

I recently purchased this monitor to display 1440p at 120hz

    https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=40773

However, when I go into my xbox settings to select it, It says this resolution isn't supported with the current refresh rate and defaults the resolution down to 1080p. I am using the One X's HDMI 2.0 cable, it is plugged into HDMI 2 on the monitor, and the
monitor says it supports 1440p at 120hz. How can I get my xbox to display correctly?

    :)

    Xbox one s 1440p 120hz problems

Hello i am having the same issue here. And i do see that the monitor supports these outputs. Can someone please look into this as the Xbox One X settings will change my settings to 1080p 120 hz when I select the 1440p 120hz option available when using my
HDMI 2.0 port on the monitor utilizing a HDMI 2.0 cable:

    Monoprice 27in Zero-G Gaming Monitor – 2560x1440p, WQHD, 144Hz, 1ms, FreeSync, HDR Support, 400nits, HDMI, DisplayPort, TN

If someone from Microsoft can please assist as this is very frustrating and leaning towards me not purchasing an Xbox series X, and I will post a youtube videos for other viewers to be aware of this matter.

This is the actual monitor specs please read the port supports provided.

    https://downloads.monoprice.com/files/manuals/38576_Manual_190408.pdf

    support:

    HDMI 2.0: 50 ~ 144 Hz

    HDMI 1.4: 50 ~ 75 Hz

    DisplayPort 1.2: 50 ~ 144 H

I just wanted to state an update. I even tested the HDMI 2.0 port into my pc/windows 10 and in fact the resolution was set to 2560 x 1440p and I was able to toggle changes between 60hz, 75hz, 120hz, and 144hz with no problem and acceptance in the display
    settings for the monitor.

Unable to 120Hz at 1440p Even Though Monitor Supports 144Hz at 1440p

It sounds like any monitor that uses non standard Vesa frequencies (144hz as opposed to 120hz) will not be able to effectively run at 120hz with 1440p on xbox one x.

Will Xbox series x/s have more monitors that run 1440p @ 120hz than current gen consoles?

That doesnt answer the question is it going to work for older monitors that are hdmi 2.0 that didn't run at the 1440p 120hz they were supposed to run at on xbox one x i bought a viotek monitor gft27db was supposed to run 1440p 120hz over the hdmi 2.0 but
it doesn't on the one x only runs at 1080p 120hz with freesync on or 1440p 60hz no freesync will series x solve this issue thats what he wants to know i have heard it was a bandwidth issue but with the new console having higher bandwidth i would guess it would
solve the issue but would like to know for sure

Xbox One X will not run 1440p at 120hz

Ty for the reply. However, 1440p is a setting that will display on both television and monitors. Assuming the television and/or monitor is capable if displaying it.

I can run 1440p on my telesivion woth the xbox but only at 60hz.

The isue i am having is running 1440p at 120hz.

im currently running 4k at 60hz which is the highest the xbox one x will go because it does not have a 2.1 hdmi port.

However, I want to be able to run 120hz at 1440p. My television is more then capable at displaying it, but the xbox isnt sending it.
