Xbox one X won’t output sound

I was playing Halo 5 last night and when I was done I paused the game and turned the sound all the way down on my tv. When I came back the sound from my Xbox would no longer come out of my tv. When I plugged headphones into my controller sound would come
out of them but still nothing from the tv. I did a hard reset on the console. I swapped out the hdmi cord. I’ve changed all the audio settings on the Xbox and my tv. I’d rather not have to do a factory reset of the console without a guarantee that it will
solve the problem.

Far cry 5 won’t load on Xbox X

We are having trouble here ( Providence RI) . Far Cry 5 won’t load on your Xbox X. It loads fine on the xbox one but the X it won’t. We have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling three times. We tried an external hard drive, that won’t work either.
It’s not the game it’s the console. We are all able to play on are first generation Xbox one but not the X. Please help.

While we can't guarantee any steps will resolve an issue, doing a
Factory Restore on your Xbox One is a relatively painless step to try as long as you select 'Reset and keep my games & apps'.

The Xbox One doesn't currently output surround sound. However, Microsoft is working on it and will be updating the Xbox One to output in surround sound soon.

Hello again, unfortunately there is no way to know if the option will come back one day, if this happens Microsoft usually publish these news first on the Site of The Xbox News.

I have an Xbox One X and use the optical output, it is useful to connect the sound in some sound bar or equipment that accepts input.

Are trying to get your xbox one sound on your tv? Or your tv sound on the xbox one? If it's tv sound on xbox one through the optical port that does not work as the xbox one is an output only.

If you are trying to get xbox one sound on your tv. When you go to sound settings what do you have selected for optical output? Try "stereo uncompressed" sound if you have not tried this alread. Your receiver might not be able to handle the other options.
