Xbox One X will not display anything on 2560 x 1440p, 144Hz monitor

I have an HP Omen 27" 165Hz (when overclocked) monitor. I do not have it overclocked currently. I have used my regular xbox on the same monitor and it works fine. I have cross tested all cables and hdmi ports...all work
    fine
. All I get is a message from my monitor that no input signal detected. The monitor is only 2 or 3 months old, barely used and the xbox one x is maybe 2 weeks old. The X works fine through the hdmi port on my 60Hz 1080p TV. I have tried the cable
that comes with the X as well as 2 others that work with everything else. Any ideas what the problem is?

    :)

    Quick Question

    Will Xbox One / Xbox One X ever support 2560 x 1080p or even 2560 x 1440p someday ? ... just curious.

    1440p time frame?

I bought a console for $500 because Xbox said that 1440p will be run natively on the One X. (I have a 1440p 144hz monitor) I have been told 1440p support will be coming "in the future". I'm sorry, but "in the future" really isn't good enough. I know there
are many more people with the same frustration as me. Can we get a real time frame?

Had I known it would not have had support for 1440p from the start I would not have bought the console.

    Xbox series X - 1440p 144hz monitor

    Hi,

Do you have problems with getting your Xbox to use your display's 1440P resolution and 120Hz on this monitor?

Your monitor has a note in the manual that says:

    * When HDMI Compatibility Mode is on, 2560 x 1440 @ 120/144Hz resolution is not supported.

I would assume you should be able to get 120Hz at 1440P with this monitor connected to a Series X. But, as you've probably seen, the Xbox One can be really picky when it comes to monitors.

Monitor interest has gone up considerably since Microsoft released support for both 120Hz and FreeSync. The problem is getting a monitor that will use these features correctly over HDMI.

How to enable 1440p on xbox series x

    Hi,

It's not possible on that display. The big reason why is that it isn't a 1440P display, at least it isn't a 16:9 aspect 1440P display, it's a 21:9 Ultra-wide monitor. Xbox only supports 1440P 16:9 aspect ratio displays. These monitors have a resolution of 2560 x 1440, yours has a resolution of 3440 x 1440.

The Asus ROG PG348Q is designed more for PC gaming not console gaming. Unless Microsoft provide support for these types of monitors in the future I'm afraid you're stuck with a maximum resolution of 1080P.

    Xbox Series X not displaying 1440p 120hz

    Hi,

Xbox Series X/S have issues with 1440P and 120Hz on various monitors due to many monitors using none standard timings. However, you have another issue in that your monitor is
    not 1440P.

Xbox consoles don't support ultra wide monitor resolutions, this monitor is an ultra wide. The 1440P supported on Xbox consoles is in the 16:9 aspect ratio QHD (2560 x 1440), your monitor is a 21:9 aspect WQHD (3440 x 1440).

Therefore, realistically your maximum resolution when connected to an Xbox console could be limited to 1080P. It may be possible to select 2560 x 1440P, but it won't look right and it probably won't run at 120Hz.

Your display is HDR 400 rated, this is entry level HDR and in most cases it's mediocre, yours isn't great. It just can't get bright enough to fully show a true HDR effect. Experiment with it (ideally in dark room), you'll find SDR to be better.

Unable to 120Hz at 1440p Even Though Monitor Supports 144Hz at 1440p

It sounds like any monitor that uses non standard Vesa frequencies (144hz as opposed to 120hz) will not be able to effectively run at 120hz with 1440p on xbox one x.

xbox one x wont run at 125hz unless at 1080p

    Hi,

The max refresh rate on One S and X is 120hz, but to get there you need a monitor or TV that supports it and supports it over HDMI. Some displays only support this over display port.

The S3220DGF doesn't support 120hz at all, only 60 and 144hz and the 144hz is only over Display port.

Best suggestions is find a monitor you like the look of and google its online manual PDF. You're looking for 120hz over HDMI. Remember that this is the
    vertical refresh rate.

Also be sure 1440P is 2560x1440 as this is a 1440P monitor, Xbox does not support ultra wide displays.

look at online reviews, manuals and YouTube vids of your display. Shouldn't go wrong with that.
