    Xbox One X Wifi issue ?


    Just updated my router just incase, new xbox would not connect again to my 5ghz band .. when go into network settings , the 5ghz band is not visible but the 2.4 ghz is .If keep refreshing networks then eventually after 5 or 6 refreshes… the 5ghz appeared…
    leave it for a bit and it connects to net without reselecting it .I got my old xbox out which I swapped wifi board to… works first time… straight on net. Dunno if something to do with early xbox build as old one is Sept 17 build… new one is Dec 17 build… not
    happy that new one is 12 months old… going to contact seller .

    Further update .

    My old xbox decided not to connect again… so went into router and tried a few things , changed channel… still same… so then went into channel width ..and it was set at auto for both 2.4 and 5ghz bands… so have set to 40mhz and seems to have fixed issue .I
    remember someone saying to check that… so should of done that earlier .Lets see how goes for next few days .Cannot leave xbox on… instant on mode… due to smoke coming out of it the other night , that's why got new one as dont trust it… even though still works

    The Xbox One X has a KNOWN WIFI issue which I thought would be fixed a YEAR later..

    Don't try to troubleshoot me with all that Wifi wizard (Mod Removed - Profanity)

    This problem is absolutely just an xbox series x problem. I have 2 other xbox consoles hooked to xfinity wifi. I have a one and one x hooked to it with no issues but fpr whatever reason the series x will not load the login page.

    xbox one keeps losing wifi connection.

    Ports and your ISP usually don't have anything to do with a wireless connection failing, as the WiFi connection is only between your console and the router.

    Is your console by chance enrolled in the Insider Preview Program?

    While my Xbox One X works without issues via WiFi, the patch notes on some Insider Previews state that they are investigating cases with WiFi connectivity issues, and that people should report via the Feedback tool if their console loses WiFi connectivity.

    It would help if you also said which WiFi router you are using, maybe there is an incompatibility between the Xbox One X and certain router models.

    Wifi issues with Xbox one X

    I believe this was fixed for people in the alpha ring of the Xbox insider program on March 8th: -

    "We have resolved the issue in which your Wi-Fi connection would lag for 3-4 seconds and reoccur after 30 minutes"

    This fix has already filtered down from the alpha ring to a couple of the lower preview rings, and it should be included in the public build of the dashboard which I would imagine will be pushed out in early April, although that's just an educated guess.
    It might be a little sooner, it might be a little later.
    This is still not in place, if it was meant to fix this issue.
