    Xbox One X Warranty and not being able to factory reset


    Hey everyone,I bought my xbox one x 4/19/20 of last year. I have been having serious issues with the console no longer being able to work properly i had had reset it multiple times over the last couple months but now when i try to factory reset or do anything in recoveery mode it will turn off then back on to recovery mode or black screen. I am not sure as to why my warranty says it has run out when i havent owned the console anywhere near a year. Xbox support has pretty much ignored me and im thinking its time to give up. Any advice on next steps would help. Turning off or unplugging anything wont help so please dont suggest that trust me i have exhausted my options. I havent been able to talk to a real person about this issue as it seems microsoft would rather send you to various links than sit and fix it. Im hoping an agent can see this andcontact me i have proof of purchase from when i purchased it less than a year ago. Thanks for the read and best of luck to anyone going through similar issues.

    Hi there,

    Sorry to hear you are experiencing these issues, I'm fairly sure I can say that these issues are far from normal.

    One thing you could try, if you haven't tried it yet. Is a factory reset via the steps here:

    I suggest doing a Full reset.

    If that doesn't fix it then it most likely will need a repair or replacement. Since the Xbox One X is fairly new I do assume the repair is within warranty. See this link for details: https://support.xbox.com/browse/xbox-one/warranties-and-repair

    I hate how you key in on one thing and completely ignore the other important thing:

    This Xbox One X was failing while it was under warranty. The kind of failure (degrading hdd) was covered up by the steps support had me do. I specifically requested my Xbox One X be repaired under warranty but they refused to do that. They only gave me
    the option to lose everything in my hdd and do a factory reset. That covered over the problem just long enough for my warranty to expire. Really shady support practices there.

    I wanted to know if they would process an exception for this and fix my factory hdd under warranty because they made my warranty clock run out.
