    XBox One X UHD HDR Video Dark / Light Issues (Games Look Fine)


    When playing UHD HDR video content from a BD or Netflix the colors look really muted. However, games look great. In Gears 4 and Forza 7 I see the HDR options under the game settings. Also, the console Settings / TV details shows all green checkmarks for
    4K and HDR compatibility. My TV is a Samsung Series 7000 with HDR+ and HDMI UHD Color enabled.

    I experimented and my TV's Netflix app which plays back UHD HDR video fine. Great colors with vivid darks and whites. Regular BDs (1080P) and Vudu (non-HDR) content looks fine on the console too. It's just UHD HDR media.

    Any ideas?

    Xbox Oe X Scorpio HDR Washed Out

    Games are fine. It is HDR Video content from Netlfix, Amazon, and Bluray Player that is having the issue.

    I have the exact same problem with HDR.

    Moreover, in games, I see no differences with the HDR feature activated or deactivated

    same problem here. Movies that looked great on my One S months ago look like crap on my One X now.

    The problems are caused by this update: 10.0.16299.3036 (rs3_xbox_rel_1710.171020-1745)

    On fall creators update 16299.3031.RS3_RELEASE_XBOX_DEV_1710.171012-1520 there was no such problem.

    MS has to fix this soon!

    But there are no publications in any other Forum i found. The console is useless without HDR for UHD Blurays...

    Thats strange because I have exactly same TV and difference With or without HDR is huge and colours are not washed out in games
    Games are fine. It is HDR Video content from Netlfix, Amazon, and Bluray Player that is having the issue.

    Latest update messed up black levels for UHD playback

    I have the exact same issue on my One X. Tried the Star Trek and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (Both UHD discs with HDR). Games in HDR (Forza 7) look amazing but UHD movies look awful now.

    Regular blurays look fine. My LG OLED C6 switches to HDR mode and displays info saying that it is receiving a 4K signal with HDR and BT rec.2020 so the signal is correct for HDR, but it seems that the Bluray software in the latest update has been messed
    up so that it doesn't decode or send HDR image data correctly to the TV as it did before.
