Xbox one X turns off only when playing Red dead online

I’ve been trying to play red dead online recently and every instance I attempt to my Xbox turns off and once turned back on states that it was turned off because it overheated.

So far I’ve cleaned my Xbox and made sure the ventilation works, hard reset the Xbox, unplugged it for an hour and nothing has worked. I’ve also done all the recommendations the Xbox tells me to stop it overheating and my Xbox doesn’t feel very hot which is odd. It’s also odd that it only happens when I play red dead.

Is there any way I can fix this?

If that is the only game you are having this issue with, I recommend trying to clear its local save, please check the last step here: Troubleshoot game issues on Xbox | Xbox Support

You can also try to clear the persistent storage to see if it helps:

System > Settings > devices and streaming > blue ray > persistent storage > clear three times > restart console.

This was Done!
Xbox one X set with child one and child Two
Xbox one S set as Child One and Child two
Auto login is Off on Both Consoles
child on logs in plays game on xbox one x, child two logs in on same game on xbox one s, Child one is logged off of Xbox one x. Child one logs back on Child two is logged off.
this is also not logged off of same game but different games
child one on x playing far cry, child 2 logs in on s and starts red dead, far cry is logged off....
Far Cry is only on the x not the S

Done All the bits on the web, done it all with the Support staff, still got the same problems

there is one thing that NOBODY has covered, in the USA Red Dead is a Different certification. although both kids are UK, red dead is different in the UK and the USA, could this be the problem... nobody knows

Firstly, the retail full version of Red Dead Redemption 2 on disc already includes Red Dead Online so unless you have transitioned to a digital only console, you wouldn't need to purchase it again.
Secondly, which digital version did you purchase? There is the full game Red Dead Redemption 2. There is also Red Dead Online, which is obviously the online part. And then there is Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode, which is just a DLC for Red Dead Online (owning Red Dead Online is required) which allows you to play the single player campaign.
Please check your purchase history to see which one you have purchased.

Did you purchase the Story mode or the Online mode? If it is either, then you'll need the other one to play as each one doesn't work alone.

This is not entirely true. Red Dead Online does not need anything else to be played. Red Dead Online does not need Story Mode in order to play online. RDO is a stand alone game as well as being a part of the full game.
Story Mode is the only one that needs something else (RDO) since it is the only one that is considered DLC.
