Xbox One X Turns off immediately during boot up

Hello,

Since yesterday afternoon (3/8), I have been unable to boot up my Xbox One X. It boots up to the "Xbox One" splash page, then shuts down.

I believe there was a corrupted file in the most recent update. I tried resetting the power supply first, that did not work.

The next step was to try and do an OSU. I downloaded the latest OSU, and ran it. It attempts to download, run, and apply the update, during the Applying Update portion, it shuts down (no error code).

What do?

Hey there John!

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue trying to boot up your console.

If your console doesn't boot up even to the home screen, then I would suggest trying the steps outlined in our

Xbox One Startup Error Solution.

When you get a chance, give the steps there a go and let us know how that helped at resolvingthe issue.

Are you enrolled in the insider preview program because if you are the OSU update won't work.

To my knowledge, I am not enrolled in the insider preview program lol.

Thats the program for beta testing system updates, isn't it?

I have looked into it and i believe it is because you console is trying to connect to something but cant, once you have pressed the xbox button and the light shows up try pressing on the right side of the front the button that has three arrows pointing
out then on top of your xbox controller press the button with the same symbol at the same time tell me if anything happens

Hmm tried it with no success.

Could be on to something though....

My son says it was turned off at the power point overnight and he tried to turn it on in the morning via the controller.

He then realized it was switched off at the power point but has not been able to get past the light/chime since.

Perhaps the controller and console have lost contact with each other?
