    Xbox One X - System shuts down with no warning.


    Hi,

    I have been on to support and I am currently in the process of trying a few things.

    In short my Xbox One X shuts down while playing a game.

    I started my Xbox (wireless connection) and immediately started to download/install 'Tera' from the store.

    I then started to play Isle of Man TT and I did not get far before the console shut down. No notice, could not have been heat, it was only on 5 mins.

    Tried again, almost immediately the console shut down. By now I am concerned, so I paused the download and tried another game, this time Burnout paradise remastered and that played ok.

    Tried TT and again it failed!!

    Contacted support, who advised a clean start and that is where I am now, reinstalling so stuff.

    I have also connected to network using a cable...

    Has anyone else had random Xbox One X shut downs?

    Why couldn't Microsoft give us an advance warning for the Lips server shut down?

    Xbox live friends and I would really have liked an advance server shut down warning on Lips. My Xbox LIVE friends missed out on the 4 online achievements that's in Lips. Like EA, Sega, Konami, etc etc give out advance server shut down warnings. Even Sony
    gives out advance server shut down warnings for PlayStation exclusives on the PlayStation blog. Also why can't Microsoft give us any advance warnings for XBLA, DLC, XB1 downloads, and Windows Phone delistings?

    Xbox One X - System shuts down with no warning.

    With a wired network I have been installing GoW4 and that is a monster update from the network and played Burnout Paradise Reloaded, a game which does nip a long at quite a pace, no restarts. Starting to wonder if there is a glitch in the wireless function
    of the box?

    Nope something is definitely incorrect. Shut down after 35-45 mins play on TT, I had returned to home to check on GoW4 install, walked away and it shut down and this time would not start. Its a duff box! This I am now reasonably sure about.

    It is shutting down now while just installing GoW4 from disc and Network. So, cleared the BluRay persistent memory, what ever that will do, and trying once again. In short I have done everything now, the close down is happening when the system is NOT under
    load, e.g. downloading and installing only, so this can only really be a hardware issue. This is the final test, if it don't play right now it goes back to the store before the 30 days runs out.

    I bought a Gears 4 XB1 S and it would randomly shut down too, OP.

    Luckily, it did this to me right from the start, so I was able to take it back to the store for an exchange. Its a legitimate problem and I hope MS fix it for you.
