    Xbox one X sync button not working

    Not sure if it's due to an update (last updated 9/25/2020) but my controller, and any controller I have tried is unable to sync to the system. Seems like the button on the system does not work. Usually my controller has automatically connected so it's not
    been an issue. I've tried the 10 second system reset, and updating controller firmware (which it did need updated, but did not fix the issue).

    A controller only works when plugged in, otherwise the light flashes on and off at a regular interval. Sync button on controller seems to work (noticeable change in light pattern), but pressing the button on the system seems to do nothing.

    Any other suggestions or is there a way for me to rollback the system update to see if that is the issue? Factory reset? Or is this a known, widespread issue?

    How did you set up your external hard drive? I'm unfamiliar with anything that would have to do with the sync button? Also: is your Turtle Beach headset compatible with Xbox One?

    I also have same issue with sync button. Just starred this week as my elite controller failing constantly to sync or Start xbox. Button makes error noise and does not allow console to flash for sync with controller. Is there another way apart from put
    cable to controller as this also seems to be random ar fixing the issue. Is this a known fault or a bug created from an update i dont know

    It's been a while since I set it up. It has worked for years for me. I think when i plugged it in, it just worked. And yes, it is a Stealth 600 that I have also been using with my Xbox for a very long time. But since the error happened, pushing the button
    on the xbox no longer makes the xbox flash, and the sound is like a error buzz instead of the normal sync sound.

    This does not work as in order to update the controller it need to be connected to the xbox. I thought it was my controller and i got a whole new one to experience the same issue..Even when i have it plugged in it is still not syncing and the sync button
    on my xbox one x is not working at all.

    Sync the Controller:
    To sync a wireless controller with your Xbox, follow these steps:

    Press the Xbox button on the controller to turn it on.
    Press and hold the small sync button on the front of the Xbox Series X console (located near the USB port).
    While holding the sync button on the console, press and hold the sync button on the controller (located on the top near the Xbox button).
    Release both sync buttons when the controller's Xbox button starts flashing. The controller should now be synced with the console.
