Xbox One X - Super Slow Download Speeds and Super Slow UI (Original Xbox One works Fine)

I've seen quite a few threads on this forum (and all over other internet sites) about how horrible the download speeds seem to be for the Xbox One X.

I really don't understand the issue; but it is almost certainly on Microsoft's side.

I just purchased a new (manufactured Sept. 2018) Xbox One X.

If I have my original Xbox One plugged in I get my normal 100 - 115 Mbps down.

If I just switch out the cord and plug in my Xbox One X - I get 7 - 9 Mbps down !?!?

Literally 10x slower.

I have hard-wired connection.

Nothing in my network has changed.

I don't understand what is different about the original Xbox One and the new Xbox One X I have that is causing such a huge difference.

The UI has also been very slow and laggy; but I was hoping this was due to the slow internet download speeds since most of the UI content requires an internet connection.

The system has also just totally froze a few times and required a soft reset.

I've tried soft resets. I've tried hard resets, I've tried restarting my router; although like I said, nothing in my network has changes and no other device in my house is having issues.

I do have uPnP enabled.

Does anybody have any other suggestions? This is incredibly frustrating. Perhaps I'm better off just returning the console.

Microsoft killed original Xbox one with update

My Xbox One, had since day one, still running perfect. After latest update it runs fine. Not sure if it is faster or slower (don’t run a stopwatch between commands). But, have not noticed any super speed up or super slow downs. Have no problems starting
apps or playing games.

SUPER SLOW DOWNLOAD SPEED!

Hi Guys,

I am having a stupid amount of Xbox LIVE issues at the moment. I quit xbox for about 3 months and I came back to find I can not join XBL game without lagging. Also I have been trying to download GTA 4 now for 2 days. It is taking the p*** and is driving
me insane. I tested my download speed and it is 80MB/s with 30ms Ping. I can download something on my computer that 1gb in about a minute. I just want to know why my XBL connection is so rubbish? I have 4 Bar connection in the test area and open NAT. It's
really ticking me off.

SOME PLEASE TELL ME WHATS GOING ON!

Hello, looks like it is something related to the console, considering all test you done.

I will suggest ask about replace the console if you still in the 30 days, if not ask about to be serviced:

Are you wired or wireless? Try a wired connection. Your WiFi signal will be split between every device that connects via WiFi.

try restarting your router by unplugging the power from the wall outlet/socket for at least 5 minutes (while your router is off you might as well Power Cycle your Xbox by holding the power button for 10 seconds then unplugging the power lead from the wall
socket.

then plug the router back in and wait for it to fully initialise (all the lights solid green) then plug your Xbox back in and connect to the internet and live.

that will clear the caches in both the router and Xbox and will hopefully speed things up a bit.

As mentioned above, Try a wired connection to help with the download speeds, If that does not help and you are still experiencing slow download speeds your Internet Service Provider could be throttling your speeds for high bandwidth downloads
