    Xbox one x suddenly stops working


    hi I have xbox one x that all of sudden will not load games and now loads very slowly from boot where it takes over 5 minutes to load but to only come to a screen that's says the home took too long to load. I can't access settings without it freezing which
    then I have to restart the xbox again and wait. I dont understand it was working fine a few seconds before all this started and now I cant do anything, it also doesn't recognize my external hdd i have connected...any and all help would be much appreciated

    Hi. So I have the external hard drive listed above, and it just stopped working all of a sudden. Like I was literally using it yesterday afternoon, and today, the drive isn't recognized. The drive itself seems to be working fine (I can detect it by plugging
    in to a PC), but none of the three ports seem to totally recognize the external drive. I say that because going by the light flashes, it seems to be working, but the OS just won't read from it anymore. Aside from assuming the hard drive crashed (which I
    don't think is the case, since again, the PC recognized it), is there anything else I can try? I have a LOT of data on that drive (mostly Rock Band 4 songs), and I don't think it'll all fit on the internal drive.

    Are you doing just a reset or a power cycle?

    Try a power cycle with the console if you haven't.

    Unplug the power source for about 5 minutes to see if that helps.

    power cycle     of your Xbox One console and router/modem as Geth suggested.

    If that does not help, please try a
    soft factory reset     of your Xbox One console selecting the option to keep your games and apps to avoid having to download them again. Any changes with this experience after that?
