Xbox one x stuck on low resolution mode

My Xbox One X will only load up in low resolution mode (640x480). When I try to change the resolution to 720 or 1080p I receive a brief no signal error on my tv before it reverts back to 640x480.

Originally my tv was only showing the "no signal" error so I tried the following steps:

I have tried to use different HDMI cables and televisions, all of which are capable of 1080p and previously worked at 1080p.

I have tried a hard reset (holding the power button for ten seconds to turn the xbox off)

After that, I tried to load my Xbox into low resolution mode, by holding the eject button and power button until I heard a beep. This worked and my Xbox loaded up with a 640x480 resolution.

I tried to switch the resolution to 1080p and 720p in the display settings. Both times it reverted back to 640x480 after briefly losing signal

I then switched the display from auto-detect to HDMI but It still wouldn't allow me to change the resolution

After that, I reset the Xbox to factory settings but my resolution was still stuck at 640x480.

I have come across people with similar problems online but as of yet I have found no solution. If anyone is able to help me I would extremely grateful.

Thanks for your response. I'm afraid it is well out of warranty. I've followed the link you shared for out-of-warranty service orders but there doesn't seem to be any options for the One X. I don't suppose you have an idea what the hardware fault would be so I can look into a repair privately?

My apologies, it does seem like there are no service orders available for the Xbox One X through Microsoft.

I wish I could tell you exactly what's at fault for this malfunction, but I'm afraid that goes beyond my capabilities. In this case, my best advice would be to have your console diagnosed and repaired by a third-party service.
