    Xbox one x stuck on black screen


    I turned on my Xbox after it was in storage for only a month or two and it had to update, so after letting it update I came back and it was off. After turning it back on I get the green Xbox screen on my TV and then it just went to a black screen. I waited for 30 minutes and nothing.

    I've tried a hard reset and a factory reset multiple times and nothing changes and I even left it on over night to see if it would finish updating and still nothing.

    Has anyone had similar issues? Is there a fix for this or did I just brick it?

    Hi Pat, I’m having this issue after an update also. Did your console immediately go to the black screen or were you getting the black screen immediately after powering it on.

    Mine also. I setup a newly wiped xb 1 s, played a few 360 games, queued up a bunch of games from gold ultimate. Went to bed and woke to a black screen. My Xbox android app sent me a message failed to install GTAV. Now I get no signal or a blank black screen.

    No amount of resets or button combo gets me a menu for any startup repair etc.

    I have the offline download on a stick but get no menu to run offline FW.

    System is well ventilated on a top glass shelf and in a cool room.

    I currently am struggling with the same thing.

    Today I turned my Xbox on for the first time in between 1 and 3 months. My Xbox turned on and everything was normal. Then it asked for an update. That’s when everything messed up.

    After the update it restarted as normal with the Green loading screen. Then it went to black, and I haven’t seen anything else except the menu

    “Turn Off Controller, Turn off Console, Restart Xbox”

    I’ve done everything I could find, including a factory reset.

    All because of a Microsoft Update.

    Having the same issue, have it down my bedroom hooked up to projector, was grand all last month but since it done the update just a blank screen, if any one has it fixed be great to know, silly old update
