Is the cable that you are referring to the one shown here:

If so, then it appears that it is likely an internal ground connection for EMI suppression / ESD Protection. It should not be any issue if it is bent, as long as it is connected on both ends.

Unfortunately that question is a little specific that only console software and hardware engineers would be able to answer for you and they do not have a presence on these forums. Honestly I don't think you should be worried if just one of these cables are
folded as long as your console is operating fine. I'm not an engineer so I can't tell you for sure but maybe someone from the community has a background in computer engineering and can tell you what the purpose for those cables are.

Although we do not condone opening consoles, you seem to be well aware of the warranty situation. Microsoft will not service consoles that have been opened or tampered with.

My best advice, would be to look on sites like eBay, and to purchase another faulty or spare parts console, to replace the part, maybe even the faceplate only. Send the seller a message and see how you go.

Depending on the damage, some parts are replaceable, but some aren't. Consulting YouTube for visual guides, would be a wise, before delving in.
