Xbox One X - strange noise from disc drive

Hello everyone,

i own my Xbox One X Gold Rush Edittion since 2 weeks. Since today, everything was OK, until i put a new disc with Assasisn's Creed Syndicate into my console.

Look at movie, to heard this strange noise from disc drive:

As You see, with Just Cause 3, nothing worry happen. After it, i was trying to put some old games from Xbox 360 and all of them, "sounds" like assasins creed :/

I found on internet, that there was some problem with disc drive on Xbox One. Does it still happen in One X? Do i have to send my NEW CONSOLE to service?

Welcome again.

Two months after first problem report, i finally got my console back.

Of course, it was hardware problem with disc drive. Funny thing is, that after listen to my story, few of my friends, checked their consoles and firgured out, that also had problems with DVD discs.

No one from One S owners repoted such a situation, only in Xbox One X.

I think that there was some damaged part of disc drive, which wasn't discovered at QC, because it appear only on DVD and some of Bluray discs.

Anyway, thank You all for your support and for fast diagnose. If hardware service would work so good, like technical support, it would not take so long..

This seems to me some defect on the AC cd, some burr, or defect in the art of printing the cd, because it is clear that with the other cd nothing happens.

Hi CzarekOA,

The Xbox One X can play movies using the same disc reader through the Blu-ray Player app. I asked if you have movies to further test the disc reader in the console. Either way, my advice would be to replace the console with the retailer you bought it from.
Most retailers have a 30 day return warranty if the console encounters an issue that can only be fixed by repair, so call the store you bought it from to confirm their return policy for the console.

If they cannot help you, then you can set up a repair process through Microsoft Device Support: https://support.microsoft.com/devices, however the store you bought
it from should be able to replace it for you as long as you still have the receipt.

Yes i have a Bluray disc player, for movies, but it doesnt change a fact, that this sound is appearing when disc is staring to rotate, so i would hear it. On X360 it is also quiete.

I've bought it from local retailer. Does he has to exchange me it or could start warranty process??
