Xbox One X Starts games in different languages.

Hello Everyone!

I bought myself a Xbox One X a couple of months back.

I love the console and i play alot of games.

But lately when i started up some games either the in game text or the achivements show up in random languages.

For example:

Sonic Forces = Achivements in Japanese

Ashen (Xbox Game Pass) = Japanese Text.

Hitman 2 Prologue Demo = German Text.

I live in Sweden and all of my settings have always been set to Swedish and that some games popping up in japanese/german is so weird.

I tried changing the language of everything except keyboard input to English (United States).

That seems to to have fixed the issue with Hitman and Ashen. Dont know about Sonic forces though since i thought the game was horrible so i sold it.

I mean sure i could have it all set to english no problem but this is driving me up the wall.

I really wanna be able to have all language settings set to swedish if possible. Have anyone else experienced this problem before? Would really appreciate some help!

I agree with MiniOverKill's post. This issue needs a proper solution. Otherwise I can't understand why there would even be a Swedish option available in the settings, if it just selects a random language in the games? Japanese and Swedish are about as different
as two languages can be.

All content should default to the language and locale settings made by the user. If, as in this case, Swedish is not available in a game, it should revert back to English by default. Japanese has never been the default language for a European-sold XBOX device.

AS stated above console is set to Swedish/Swedish, setting it to english resolves the issue but then all games inkluding the kids games my son plays are set to english.

It makes no sense to me that setting a console to swedish sets games to Japanese or german?!!

Have you checked in your console settings under Langauge to make sure it is set to English?

Tried that aswell. Did not work. Everything is set to Sweden/Swedish. It seems to be a bug in the system. But its only with some games as i mentioned earlier. Have you heard of this issue before?

Did you find a solution yet? I am having the exact same problem. Downloaded "Ashen" through the Game Pass, but when I try to launch the game it's in Japanese. Did a factory reset, have the same locale and region on both XBOX and MS accounts (Swedish, same
as you). But Ashen remains japanese.
