Xbox One X Start up problems ever since I purchased this about 2 yrs ago

I think mine is a 2017 model.. Interestengly things worked for a couple more days of keeping the console out of its cabinet on to the floor.. and then again things went into repeat issue mode.. various 08xxxx issues, at one point it simply went into a loop
of a 08xxxxx error and pressing close would get it bac kto the same screen.. then only way to switch of was to press and hold the console power off button. Had to reset the console through offline update twice more. And then now I am stuck at E105 xxxx.

It seems to me I have spent more time debugging and resetting this console than we have played on it .

So i might have to reach out to xbox repair/support to see if its anything to do with the hardware defect.

Does this XBOX still have the original Hard drive in it?

Typically I only see startup errors on modified systems and/or possibly after failed/incomplete updates. After you applied the OSU - did the system ask for another update - if so was it successfully applied?

I have tried those in sequence several times in the past and it works for a few a days and then back into its start-up error scenario.

Now from 02/Apr to 07/Apr the console worked about 5 times while playing fortnite.. though it did get into black screen a few times while playing (i guess fortnite crashed?).

Now, today as well when my son was playing fortnite, he hardly was in the game for 10 mins when the screen went blank and we had to restart the console. Thats it, it started with E208 then next restart was E105 and its there everytime I try to restart (even after
unplugging power cable for over 5 mins).

Is there a way to check any logs by logging into the console and exactly know the cause of this issue?

Try 1 restart console

2 power cycle xbox

3 disconnect reconnect power cable

4 complete system restore clean

Yes this has its original hdd in it.. other than assembling it no other modifications have been done on it.

I have hard wired the internet connection right from day 1.

I am guessing that since I had enabled the 2 checkboxes "keep my console up-to-date" & "keep my apps and games up-to-date", this may be causing the auto-updates to fail and then when we restart it may be ending up in start-up errors?

Yes after the OSU update (think there are 3 stages.. the progress-bars) the system restarts in between and then once all done it goes into the set-up mode and it does an update. There have been about 4 instances in the past where this update was failing
as I could see the process trying to update but coming back to the same screen and trying it again and went into an infinite loop so had to hard boot it at which point it went into the start-up error.

Now after yesterday's OSU update, the update during set up went ahead and allowed to progress to completion. However, when I tried installing fortnite it again stopped at 2.3gb downloaded and said installation stopped.. This morning when i restarted xbox
it went into the start-up error.. after 2 further failed attempts of restarts, I unplugged the power cable and waited for an hour before reattempting to boot and miraculously xbox booted up!

And after an ardous 4 hrs of attempting fortnite installation it finally succeeded this afternoon and my son is now playing on it.

My worry is this is likely to not last long as I have been through this process a number of times in the past . I am dreading that this would repeat in the near future .

Is there anything I need to be generally aware of or tricks, so as to avoid my xbox one x going into this frenzy mode often?
