    Xbox One X slowing down whole network while downloading game?


    Hi, I recently purchased a One X to as an upgrade to my previous Xbox One, and an Xbox Series S.
    I'm strictly using my Xbox One X as a physical media machine only. Though I notice a rather annoying problem at times when I'm downloading a game.

    During disc based downloads, my whole Wi-Fi network speeds TANK BIG. Like even my PC struggles to pull up a webpage.
    I can't find anything to describe why this is doing this, but with my Xbox Series S I never have this issue. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

    Wi-Fi has a limited amount of connections in band with far less than any Internet connection you’re likely to have. So the Xbox is using all the bandwidth to download your game. You can go into the settings and set band with limits for the Xbox, but I recommend using a wired connection as this will not suffer these issues nearly to the same degree

    Hello, as I'm sure you are aware if you're using internet for other things, like youtube, streaming movies, etc it can slow down your downloads.

    As for games taking longer to download on the Xbox One, keep in mind that games that are larger in size will take longer (I'm not sure what size games you were downloading on PS4 but just keep that in mind)

    Umm updates are optional

    But if you want to play online with the game you need to update

    If you cancdl an update it reverts the game back but next time you connect it also requiews you to download the update again

    Concerning games digitially

    Umm. You do know updates are only megabytes right?

    Full gamea on xbox one are bluray which means it can be 15-50 gigs and if you background the download it will fuethed slow it down as you arent using the whole proccessor to download it and you cant just play a partial download

    Xbox one does have a 2nd proccessor for background download but it slows it down when you play a game while you are waiting
