    Hello

    My Xbox One X is 2-3 years old. This past month it began to freeze within a few minutes of start up to the point where it became unusable. I ended up soft factory resetting. Then hard factory resetting. Both failed to alleviate the issues completely.
    I then unplugged the system for about a day. It seemed to get somewhat back to normal. However a week or so later a disc based game would slow and eventually crash. I'm attempting to move it to an external drive. The transfer continues to stop and the
    system is being back to being relatively unresponsive. Clearing the cache doesn't seem to work. Any ideas on how to remedy the slow down/crashes?

    Hey Xbox Widowmaker,

    I'm sorry to hear about this issue being experienced with multiple games crashing on your Xbox One X. Based on all of the troubleshooting you've tried, it seems like a pretty difficult problem to fix. I would suggest moving those games to your external hard
    drive and then do a full factory reset and not a soft one. When it asks you to reset, you will need to select "Reset and remove everything". Usually re-installing the games that are crashing after a factory reset will fix the problem so if you haven't re-installed
    any games after a factory reset, I recommend doing so.

    Are all of your games on the external hard drive crashing or just those that you posted?

    Are you using the same power cable that came with the first Xbox One X you had or did the replacement come with another power cord?

    I still have issues with it on my One X where it freezes and crashes. Normally a full restart fixes it for a while, but not sure why yours is not resolved by that

    When you say clear your Xbox, do you mean using the factory reset option? I've seen people with similar issues able to fix them with a factory reset. If you tried it, did you try the full reset, as well as the one that keeps your games and apps?

    Don't forget to go into network settings and delete mac address. I was having same issues. Crashing, unresponsive and slow. Microsoft did not want to hear how I fixed!

    If clearing persistent storage and deleting mac address don't work the you have to factory reset and repeat steps. Been playing for 24 hours with no issues!!!!
