    Xbox one x shutting off in the middle of games


    Have had my xbox one x project scorpio for 9 months before it shut of while playing pubg last month. When turned back on it displays the screen stating the xbox over heated and shut itself off with a few suggestions to troubleshoot. Tried all suggestions
    with no luck, i have moved on playing other games and the console still shuts off while gaming. The console is not in a confined space, it is on the 2nd shelf of an entertainment stand that is open on all sides. When i feel the xbox its not hot at all just
    barely warm. Also since i got the xbox the controller that came with it will not stay connected. I have tried it with a wire it just connects for a few minutes then drops the connection. I have also tried updating but that did not help either. Should i just
    send this in for repair? Does anyone have any suggestions ?

    In the middle of a game my xbox one x shut down. I can't get it to turn on again. What's up with this?

    Xbox turning off.

    Lately over the last few days my Xbox One X has been shutting off without warning.

    I’ll just be in the middle of a game and the Xbox would just shut off with the little jingle.

    Sometimes, I’ll get the message that a games save data is not synced up with Live and the turn off would follow shortly after that.

    I haven’t had this problem at all before and now it’s happening on an almost regular basis.

    Help.

    Hey there Handi,

    Sorry to hear you are running into these problems. Now of course if you have already gone through the "Troubleshoot Xbox One unexpectedly
    turning off    " support article and this has continued to happen then I would definitely request a repair.

    I would go ahead and go through the
    Device Support Website     to check on the consoles warranty and to get this order set up. Definitely want to take advantage of the warranty if you are having these problems with the console.

    1. Turn on the console.
    2. Press the Xbox button
      to open the guide.
    3. Select System > Settings > Power.
    4. Select Turn off or restart.
    If you follow these steps but the console continues to get hot and shut down, request a repair.

    This happens to me with the Fallout 76 beta. Xbox shuts off and when

    powered back on gives the thermal warning screen. My xbox one x is not a year old. It sits in the middle of a coffee table, there is nothing around, near or on top of it since the day i bought it.

    It could be the GPU overheating, but the MS Store should be able to tell you for sure. Best of luck with the repair!
