Xbox one X shutting down

I have had issues now on both state of decay 2, and now Wolfenstien 2: the freedom chronicles, where when I start episode 1 the Xbox one x instantly clicks and shuts all the way down. Upon restart it gives a screen about how Xbox is designed to shut down
when it over heats. The same thing happened when I clicked on community members in state of decay 2, instant console shut down. Anyone else have this issue?

Thank you for reaching out to the forums with your inquiry. I understand your console is not powering down all the way when you try to shut it off. Have you tried toggling the Instant on mode and the Energy Saving mode off and on and back off to see if it
takes effect. That being said if its still not registering the change you may want to try these steps:

How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One. (keep in mind you will need your Microsoft Account Email and Password to recover your account after the reset). Let us know if the issue persists after the steps.

XBOX ONE X NOT SHUTTING DOWN

My Xbox one x is not shutting down fully. It is in energy saving mode (Instant on mode is turned off).

When I supposedly have turned off the console and waited for a few minutes and power it back on, it instantly goes to the home screen, instead of going to the boot screen and loading the operating system there as it should do.

What might be wrong? Does anybody else have the same issue?

 

Your one X isn't a Scorpio edition by any chance? At any rate this looks like it's a hardware fault so I would contact Microsoft via phone for servicing options Contact Us | Xbox Support

 

If the console is giving you a message saying that it has overheated then the console is faulty, you will need to register it for repair through the xbox.com service and warranty centre.
