    Xbox One X Shuts down due to "Lack Of ventilation"


    Title sums up the issue instantly, when running "Borderlands 3" "World Of Tanks With HDR Enabled" and Very recently "Ark, Survival Evolved Genesis DLC" my xbox will shutdown completely without rebooting and show the "Shutdown Due To Lack of Ventilation"
    Message after powering it back up, im so close of just throwing this xbox out the window and setting the thing on fire, the xbox has a Fan blowing the hot air away from its exhaust on the back, i want to get a hold of a microsft staff member as this issue
    cant really be solved in the community thread, i have opened my xbox and changed the power supply inside witha new one, no change, changed the crusty thermal paste on the vapor chamber, no change. Its definelty something to do with the console itself as my
    father who also has a xbox one X but has no issue with overheating or lack of ventilation and he has no fan and has less clearence than mine. Im trying to hold on till i get a Series X but now this is pushing my patience.

    Yes My Xbox is WAY WAY Out of warranty

    And yes ive tried to call microsft but no answer.

    If microsoft is reading this i do also have video confirmation of this issuue happening with Ark

    Idk if you’re unfamiliar with the fahrenheit model of temperature, but 70 degrees is not warm. That’s considered to be average to slightly cooler than the average home in the US. 72 degrees is considered the standard indoor temperature.

    Yes, there is plenty of space at both locations where it has occurred. There is nothing “blocking” any vents other than the cords for the console itself.

    check the vents on the side and top of the Xbox to see if they are blocked with dust as that could cause this issue.

    Im not paying £240, i might as well buy a new xbox but i cant get a hold of one at the moment so im stuck with this hot garbage , my guess theres a mechanical issue with the fan or the vapor chamber, im on the menu of a game and its outputting a ton of heat
    wihtout me actually playing anything

    If there is sufficient space, try using an air duster can on the vents. These are cans of compressed air and are pretty cheap. It could be that something is blocking the airflow, causing the console to overheat.
