    Xbox One X setup with Soundbar


    Just wondering what's the best way to setup my xbox, TV & Soundbar.

    At the minute my xbox one x is connected to LG TV via hdmi and the TV and Yamaha Soundbar via hdmi (arc). Just wondering if it'd be better to connect the xbox to the Soundbar instead of TV (and leave the TV Soundbar connection via Arc as is).

    It doesn't do ATMOS but does do surround and DTS.

    Really depends on what you want and what its capabilities are. If you want to use the sound bar with everything then run through the TV. I have an optical headset so I run optical straight from the xbox to my headset. Then the hdmi runs the sound to the
    tv then the optical out in my tv to my surround sound. I only run a 5.1 system so this works well with it.

    Hi

    That is the best way to connect up. Your TV will transfer the sound perfectly. I have the same set up. Make sure you use fast HDMI 2.1 cables and not go for optical. You get a better sound with fast HDMI than optical.

    I would agree with this assessment as well, unless you have a headset that is connected via Optical. If that's the case, I would connect the optical to the TV and leave the headset in place.

    Hello JasonEvans16,

    If you have a 4K TV I would connect the Xbox One X HDMI to the TV. Then connect the optical out of the Xbox One X to your sound bar. That way you won't have to worry about degrading your video quality. Most sound bars don't have 4K passthrough.
